Alright, before anyone from the tournament misleads you about my use of
my 'magnifying glass' and my 'compass' during my shots at the tournament
I want to EXPLAIN....
I only used my magnifying glass twice, once on a 1-9 combination
(which I fired in the hole) and once on an 'impossible' backwards 9' cut
shot (which I made) where only the 'finish' on the two balls made
contact (I sliced it so thin, I ought to be a butcher)... People were
screaming "Bob Jewett", "Bob Jewett (with an E and not an i ) isn't that
a measuring device? I actually brought it to read the roadmaps. I
contend that if you are allowed to wear glasses in order to see the
balls better, you can use an magnifying glass for the same purpose. just
because I'm the first one to do it doesn't make it illegal... IMO <g>
NOW, about the compass (which I used on another combination on the
9 ball (which I made <g>). I held the compass over the balls involved to
a chorus of "Bob Jewett", "Bob Jewett" isn't this a rule violation, isn't
this a 'measuring device'? What a bunch of technical whiners <vBg>. It
is my contention that holding a compass over the balls involved in the
shot IS NOT a measuring device... I was looking for 'true north' and
once I plotted the 'course' that shot would take, I FIRED it in the
hole..
I had asked Becky for directions to the Trade Show and ALSO to Racks
in Titsville and received 3,THREE,tres,cinco, e-mails with the following
directions (snipped & edited) ......
Take I-4 to the sign that says Sea World, but don't go there. Take
exit 28 or is it 27? Anyway the Beeline Expressway, exit on International
Drive I think and turn left (or it might be right b/c it makes a loop)
and then go North or is it South? It isn't hard to find and there's
parking right across the street (there WASN'T). It's about a mile more
or less. WELL, THAT GOT ME TO THE SHOW......
To the tournament from the show: (Becky's directions) Take the Beeline
Expressway, aka #528 or five-tweny 'something' East I think, to its end
which is 407 or 405 or 40something. Turn right at the second light (or
third) and go a 'few' blocks and then look for Sherwin Williams and
Jenny Auto Parts... THAT'S Racks....
You wonder how I happened to have a compass and a map reading
magnifying class in my pockets..... oy-vey !
WHAT ? ME exaggerate- NO way..... IMO
rack-em, LOL

BTW, Bob agreed that it IS a measuring device, therefore illegal and I think I
should get to play that match over again.

>I FIRED it in the

Yes, he did! WOW! What a shot. BUT, he used an "illegal measuring device" to
figure it out, therefore, I think I should get to play that match over again.

> Take I-4 to the sign that says Sea World, but don't go there.

He didn't want to go there.

It does.

Well, there USED to be one.

It's STILL an "illegal measuring device and I think I should get to play that
match over again.

Becky wrote repeatedly while grinning (like Jack Nicholson in 'The
Shining': I think I should get to play that match (with SmorgASS) over
again.

Well Becky dear (who 'may' have given Columbus directions to Africa thus
causing him to discover America),if the r.s.b. powers that be decide
that we should play our match over again,I'll be bringing a sundial,a
transit and a shoehorn. You can't win,I have TOO many 'things' on my
side. I will gladly play you Tuesday for a hamburger (& some a/c)
today..
LOL rack-em,
Big Fish,
PS

i'm driving back up to the Trade Show in Orlando by noon today. I have a
'get well' card for my friend from P.R. (but don't tell him)....

My rule for this tournament: No blood, no foul. If you think I'd
referee a bunch of RSBers, you've got another think coming. Can you
imagine a Kulaga/Walkup match?

Thanks, Becky, for a very fun tournament.

And, yes, I did concede a nine ball that was hanging in the jaws after
a two-rail bank. So sue me -- it was 3AM.

We'll have to move this to the Are Poolhalls Safe thread.
