The TAP League defines an 'aggressivenes's statistic as:

Player aggressiveness (Opponent complete/[Completes + LOT’s])

Maybe I'm just dense today, but I totally don't understand exactly
what this means. Can anyone explain?

I "believe" it means
Opponents ball completion number divided by your (ball completions + balls
left on table)
At least thats what the acronyms mean.

I also believe each defensive shot you play is equal to one/half a
completion on your part.

All I know is people cheat the handicaps system. I didn't find the whole
thing very accurate.
No handicap system really is.
So much of the number is solely dependent on the level of opponents.
Meaning, If you generally are playing people better than you,
and you generally lose, you will have a lower handicap number compared
against
what you would have if you played lesser players and won.

The other HUGE fault, is with the people keeping score.
If better players keep score, the numbers are probably accurate
But generally beginner players keep score as much, if not more, than better
players do.
Beginners generally don't know the difference between a real defensive shot,
and a miss. If they are wrong, which is normally the case, the numbers are
skewed.

Hope this helps

I appreciate what you're saying. I was just interested in
interpreting the statistics they compute for each player. So if your
opponent makes more balls, you have a higher aggressiveness rating? I
don't get it, maybe someone else might know.

Not 100%, but it probably has lees to do with opponent ball making, than it
does with his lack of defense. Meaning he/she is more offense, hence
aggressive.

I was looking at my own stats and discovered my aggressiveness
decreases as the skill level of my opponent decreases. This is not an
attempt at sandbagging on my part, but just that the handicap system
seems to make me play more defensively when I have to spot a few
games. Interesting. I wonder if this is typical.

No, I said there's not attempt at sandbagging. It's more a sense that
disaster lurks nearby when someone's got a short race against you.
