After playing the game for more than 50 years, I have come upon a bright
insight into pool.
Looking at the spot on the object ball where it will make it go to the
pocket. After that, English, force of impact, etc, are important, but being
able to repetitively hit the cue ball and have it hit the object ball at the
right point has vastly improved my game. I can even stand up more, which is
a help. I seem to be able to hit the cue with consistency, so adjusting the
object ball strike point seems to be the key. Now I am working on cue ball
travel after contact, transferring English, etc, etc, etc. But I am
definitely making more shots using the contact point technique.
