League season's over for a couple weeks, so last night I went to a
different hall to practice.
I started out with throwing balls out and knocking them in... then I set
up the break shot from Corey's run's... the side pocket one.

Got a really good spread, then missed a few shots... then RAN A NEW HIGH
RUN!!! WHOOOOOOOTTTY TOOTY!!!

I ran 43, then got funny and had to bank a ball into what turned out to be
a dead rail.
This shot is what I call the "terminal phase" of the run.

Just wanted to say thanks (and brag a little) I feel that I ran the run
because of the discussions we've had here. The "9ball situation" post's
from Wei had a lot to do with it... and the videos of Allison, Jennette,
Corey, etc have helped a ton too.
The talks about A-B-C balls came to mind many times over

Lou.... Lou lou lou.... the small changes of english that you mentioned
what... a week ago? That made a big improvement in my techniques for
developing a break ball to get into the next rack.

So THANKS everyone!!!
this group is great

Congrats on the high run. 3 full racks really makes a statement. Way
to go!

Congratulations, 43 is nothing to sneeze at! You gotta do a lot of things
right to run 3 racks. And when a player can link together a couple sets of
"doing things right", they can run..........who knows how many!

Congrats Duane! 43 is a lot more than I've ever managed, but I'm
working on it slowly.

I'd also add that the idea of A-B-C balls has completely changed the way
I see an 8-ball table. Brilliant.

Thanks everyone...
I'm pretty sure it was a fluke, but it felt/feels really good.
I've never played on that table before so it could have been bucket
pockets... later in the night (when I started missing) I noticed a lot of
rail shots weren't going when I hit them hard, so it might have been a
tight table. I'll have to check when I get a chance

When I was in the run I didn't even realize I hadn't missed until I was 2
about racks in.

"The Zone"... it's an interesting thing.

Thanks again guys :)

That's great. And you're welcome.

And don't forget that with the small changes in english, start working
on using little differences in speed too. On some hits, small
adjustments in speed result in major changes in what the CB does.

oh yeah, and congrats on the 43. Getting to 40 is really a huge milestone.

ok, not to beat a dead horse but... so apparently the pockets were
buckets... I just posted a pic of them at
http://diamondstopockets.blogspot.com/
you have to scroll down a bit, but it's there.
