I just tallied up the average height of the *guards* at 6-6 (Bledsoe at
6-1 could only drag it down about an inch) . . . :
Keep-away on the perimeter!
Which should help with what will undoubtedly be the defensive strategy the
team will see thrown at them all season long, the forced half-court game.

So you can't be distracted at all by the thought that it's all going to be
vacated in a year or two anyway?

Last season's Memphis team went 6-5 (Mack), 6-6 (Evans), and 6-6
(Anderson) on the perimeter. The year before that it
was 6-7 (CDR), 6-3 (Rose), and 6-6 (Anderson). There was a reason
that Memphis was the dominate defensive team over the past two
seasons. However, beware the small, quick penetrating PG. Those
types often gave Memphis fits in recent years. However, an undersized
wing or outside shooter is going to dread playing UK. I doubt you've
heard Drew Neitzel's name since he was completely shut down by Cal's
long, physical perimeter players. It's like he just vanished into
oblivion.

Cal's got a nice half-court offense now. Of course, it helps coaching
guys, like Rose, CDR, and Evans, who are to able to bully through
defenses with dribble penetration. Can John Wall carry the torch?
I'm sure he will. Also, UK will be able to force tempo on the
defensive end with their long perimeter players.
I predict you're going to have a lot of fun watching these guys play.
