The Rose Award goes to David Wright of the New York Mets, who went
three-for-five with four RBI and scored one run in a 6-5 win over the
Philadelphia Phillies.
Wright's run-scoring single with two out in the bottom of the ninth
lifted New York and preserved R.A. Dickey's 11-game win streak.
Wright also hit a two-run homer.

a damn, and second, R.A. Dickey didn't win anything last night. As a
matter of fact the Phillies lit him up for all five runs and 11 hits
and should, except for inept coaching by Juan Samuel and the usual
inept management by "Bubbles" Manuel should have won the game.
