Airtime doesn't hurt either. Keeping an open mind doesn't hurt
either, for that matter.

True - jury tampering and fund fraud could cut into the airtime, I

Oh yeah - willfull destruction of private property (plus a little
fraud and jury tampering) makes for great skydiving, yeah.

It happens but usually under the heading of "good fun run amok" as
opposed to "holding the line," and doing "good unto evil."
>
>That wud come under Management like you know "Being a DZO and forgiving."
I think to be a DZO you have to be very forgiving - certainly of the
the raucous skydivers who by day keep the plane going and without even
thinking about it will do what it takes to keep everything cool while
jump operations are active but who by night, after sunset when jump
operations have ceased, sometimes turn into noisy, drunken louts with
poor vomit control.

But, it does. You see - the plane was still flying despite their
sitting on the ground and the worst trashers were simply those who
started early, thus building a rep of being drunken while others were
still sobet enough to be aware of it.
>generally making fewer jumps maybe 2 or

The plane was still flying, they were still at the dz keeping things
going - on the ground and in the air - not all wrapped up in
jumpjumpjump but possibly spending time giving back, dirt-diving,
answering questions, and explaing things. You're just spinning a

>I was a skydiver,
Woopty shit. I *am* a skydiver. (also woopty shit) The difference
is when you suggest that it's a lie that I suggest that I like the
people I jump with is that I'm the guy who's there while you're not.
I know what's going on while you can only imagine.
>been around the world understand other cultures in general
Yeah, yeah - me too. Woopty shit (again).
>human nature in particular and how slowly it changes...
Big, fat, hairy deal. The difference here is that I have more time in
the sport and my time in the sport is, unlike yours, still current.
My take on reality is based on fact and empirical experience over a
greater period than you experienced whereas yours, you yourself
engineered its stunting some time ago.
>I don't go to DZ's
>because I cain't jump anymore....
Yeah, reasons aside because they have nothing to do with the argument
at hand, you still don't go to dz's and don't have a clue about
anything skydiving, much less knowing what is truth and what is not
when it comes to my suggestion that I like the people I jump with.
>.....thats the only reason I went in the first

Like I said, your reasons are your reasons but they have no bearing on
what is reality and what you imagine reality to be.

What, you're whining about funnels now? You've got funnels galore.
Every time you open your mouth in here it's pretty much you diving out
the door, inside center, early on the count, legs stretched almost as
far as your toes, and a death-grip on the what might have been a clean
launch. I'm the guy rolling the video while explaining what doomed
the launch while you're that guy (and every dropzone has one) who
doesn't listen, thinks he knows it all, and could never imagine that
his actions and attitudes would ultimately eject him from the sport
sooner or later.

Money? No one was holding a gun to your head. You coulda done it and
given the money back or donated it to charity or whatever. No, the
real reason is you didn't have what it took. Barely 200 jumps, a
still wet D, demonstrated inability to learn to take the advice from
people who had been there before you, a remarkable propensity to try
to lay blame anywhere but yourself when you screwed the pooch - sure,
I guess it would be tough to find an instructor to help you along.
Probably have to get some poor unsuspecting bastard from out of state.
>not much by todays standards or even AFF payscales of the time

No paycheck comes with a gun demanding it be taken. Shoulda refused
it or given it back to the student or to charity. You need a better
excuse than, "they woulda paid me!"

Coulda woulda shoulda...but I'm thinking that over time more woulda
got around about how your dives tended towards the cluster fucked and
not just people who jumped with you who moved on and jumped with

The best dz's are the dz's where people are happy to be jumping at -
everything esle is more representitive of what maybe you had going obn
around you when you were jumping and while there is nothing wrong with
that, it is not the only be all to end all.

Motives, schmotives - who gives a rat's ass as long as they're there
jumping.

Might improve (to an extent) in a broadening sense people's experience
at a dz but improving uspa comes from within and improving the sport
depends, like uspa, upon the jumper. Motives are beside the point.

Fairness is also beside the point and becoing a junkie has much more

massive amounts of energy released, no concept of controlling the

No, I've organized from time to time, at boogies even - not
regularlike because there are usually others around with a lot more
experience and ability than myself. Still, it happens every now and
then but I never took a bunch of lowtimers up together on a bigway.
Biggest thing I've organized is 20way and I think the lowest jump
number on it was 75 thereabouts - but I had organized 8way earlier
with that person on board and knew there'd be no problem. You're just
envious that I got away with jumping at uspa drozpones without being a
member for just shy of a year - and I woulda got away with it longer
because no one was the wiser until I reupped last month,

Well, if you're getting something out of it - so much the better. As
for the rest, that's their own lookout. Killfile - probably, nasty
email - none of that yet, threaten to come down to Waller and rip my
head off and shit down my neck - hell, only one jackass threatened
that and he was too much of a lamo to even make the pretense of an
attempt to follow through. The excuses just made it worse.
>keeping me talking so long I mean,
That's not me doing, it's you. I ain't holding a gun to your head.
>ya ain't
>a slick as you think you are sonnyboy...
Slick enough to counter your lameass line of rhetoric, posturing, and
pretense. True, not saying much but I never claimed it was difficult
or that doing such was indicative of slick.
>Prolly on a lotta shit lists this
>minute...
Fine, fine. When I see the list (and who I might have for company on
the list) I'll give it another thought. Shit lists are for people who
need something tangible to remind them who to be annoyed with.
>Most of them are USPA and they don't have long attention spans you
>know...
Hell, as long as they aren't teamsters I'm not overly worried. "Oh
no! I pissed off members of a association which I happen to be a
member of!" They'll get over it.
>Make one think and ya made an enemy, they live mostly 60 sec. lives
Yeah, whatever. I don't make anyone do anything. No one does
anything unless they feel that thing is the thing to do.

Since the D's knew you, it probably limited you to 4 ways.

That's true but truth be told - I envy myself. I was pretty fucking
lucky to get invited on that one. Friends in low places.
BTW (fuel to the fire) I got pics from the event over at:
http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/skycamjlk/my_photos
The North Carolina stuff is for sale and the DVD of the event is
complete - available on video too and also for sale. Includes the
three training jumps, the jump into the event, ground footage at
Carolina SkySports and of course at the event too. BTW - the shots on
the site are low res and have not been cleaned up. The cleaned up
printed ones are really nice - the colors worked out.
Proceeds go towards my airplane ticket. I ain't gonna pretend
something high and mighty.
Let the party begin!

If you mean the concept of you in a 20 way, yes I do have a problem.
>If you mean the concept of you in a 20 >way, yes I do have a problem.
20 way was about as big as I went, got a double eagle on a 20 way...not a zoo
but the all D kind. Wanted to get the 2 point
36 way done before I retired for the golden
award....those were considered big ways back then and all that was avaliable in
the area. Waller wud do a 48 way weed wacker every year or so...but the mega
way haddn't been invented before I retired.
Wuddn't have got on one anyway...contrarty to poular belief I was
concerned about peoples safety...After Sandy got killed up at SDC, I knew my
instincts were right...Ya gotta draw the line on skydiver ego somewhere...those
century ways and above are to big, some good people have been killed on them ;(
