probably very deal to the recorder.

IMO Bullshit, Guy and Gals add your name phone, number, address, and REWARD to
the front of you logbook.

When your old & start to forget That logbook with your first 200 jumps may be
priceless to you or your grand kids

The key jumps of the first 200 are burnt into my memory...thats why I can have
such empathy with the flail ass sheep :)
After 200 I only logged the ones that almost killed me......engine outs and
such stuff or just to get exceptional peoples names in my log book. Got no idea
where my student log book is...my last log book is gummed together from a
whitewater kayaking accident. If the kids got 200 jumps all he has to do is
start a new one
page one 200 jumps D# then log the date of his last jump....and ever so often
to show currency.....A FAA inspector asked for my log book once....no one else
ever did....the boogies & DZ's were only interested in my Lic and reserve pack
card, so wuz the FAA inspector but he wanted my log book also...if ewe ain't
going for the E....no need to log...other than ego. For the gold wings and
such, just make a yearly estimate, roll dice and multiply by
10...anything....I've heard the sheepgods are making a thousand a year easy
now.
I see them throwing their helments & protracks out and just logging the jumps
one day in the future.....the ego's and self important shit in the sport have
gone that far astray IMHO! ;)P

If you didnt log 'em, you didnt make 'em.
Very simple.
Dont come to a DZ asking to get on a jump with me saying you have boocoo number
skydives.
If they aint in the book...you didnt do 'em.
I trusted a guy once. He almost killed me in freefall.

Oooo. Played the hemmoroid card. Good 'un. Especially the
photogenic part.

Of course, *Real Skydivers* <snerk> have *Pornographic* Memories* but
it's an understandable mistake on your part as your blood supply is
largely monopolized by bulk but also, as both ends of your digestive
tract are in a continuous state of post-digestive production.

thats nice...bet it was fun but I still gotta see yer landing action....I've
jumped with otter sheep with less than 100 that were far better than most of
the POPS with their Thousands in 4 way and above. What a person can do is more
important than what they've logged...I seen a hair lipped guy from SDSM line
logging just numbers in a 600 jump log book...I dunno he wuz at 8 or 900 and
couldn't even find his slot in a 20 way....much less fly it. SDSM only had a
Tbo back then, I doubt he did many big ways...prolly just out there churning
jumps
out....line logging them religiously and not learning much beyond how to hook
turn and turf surf his itty bitty zp. See what I mean about log books don't
mean shit
beyond ego to me? I wanna see what people know or can do, not what they have
logged! ;)P

You? Critiquing landings? Don't care what you've logged. I wanna
know what you've done!

That is as may be. What people log is important to them.

No doubt he learned something on the jump and on the landing. Maybe
he wrote it down, maybe not. It's his record for his own reasons.
Not yours.

>See what I mean about log books don't

That's fine for you. For others, it's enough that they care to write
it down. You find such behavior suspect. I think there's nothing
wrong with it.

Skydivers across the planet suddenly realize they were wasting their
time logging as it was all for Snuffie's approval.

What were they thinking?!

Word up - they're not logging for you. They're logging for them.

I let peer pressure get to me. back in the 80's. I was allways getting
comments like " you still logging?" and " you have 200X # of jumps and your
STILL logging?" when I would ask someone to sign my logbook. I got lazy and
stopped logging for around 200 maybe a few more . I regret it today. bigtime.

As a kempo class monk I realized the exact moment my log book came too
important to me....it was when I refused to leave it in my car trunk on a
whitewater run. When I rolled the kayak my first thought was "oh shit! my
logbook!"
That was my sign things were getting out of ballance The best ones arta be
burned into yer memory just relax and go ohm ohm ohm they will come back and
besides if yew got a D no one needs to sign yer logbook, just get their names
off of maniefest and log them down. I liked to let the most hopeless novice
sign my log book....it seemed to perk them up! 0~~;->

so I'm usually fishing for minnows and catching hardheads aka JK/dinks.

Which is a fine sentiment and I think it's laudable that you have
taken it upon yourself to be *the* person who suggests to the
struggling novice that they eschew pointers from a newsgroup and go
get their information from the jm's, s&ta's, and experienced jumpers
on their respective dz's.

>so I'm usually fishing for minnows and catching hardheads aka JK/dinks.

Ah, so it's not some noble informational cause but in reality it is
all just an extended electronic fishing expedition which, as ever,
begs the question - who on the line is really the prey?

Ya know, if you ever were on a dz you might be able to go ask the
jm's, s&ta's, and experienced jumpers which was which.
