Your era ????
There never was a "your era". There was just a short time you were
around skydiving and then you were gone...just like 10,000 others.
"Your era".....how pretentious.
bozo
Perhaps he could be going to Canada for help, cheaper jump ticks in Sk
due to exchange rate, -13 at one SPAS DZ I checking hummm that is very
warm for this time of year, perhaps just cold enough to make him forget
this fear of gear, he might even be interest in buying ROL to use
incase his elbow freeze up eh?????HAHAHAHAHA oh wait I see a hero USAP

may try to help this Jerrycurl.....how J.E. say it Jerrygirl
Regards JPO ho ho ho
Well that would have to be my era them....Them other 10,000 people
have their own...although many may have bled over into my era.
The USPA did a survey back in the 90's that said the average time in
the sport before getting borwd and moving on or moving on for what ever
reason was 7 years---that would fit my profile and I claim the 1990's
because thats where my years fell by chance....they didn't do a survey
on the cogers that were trying to hang on 15, 20, 30 years....left it
blank
for fruitfull minds such as mine to reasom the why and wherefore's....
Wanna hear what I think about that jimmybo? ;-o) Snuffy
OK here's the deal, you have no life outside skydiving Jim
pathedic but otoh
If a stroke hadn't saved me I'd probably be just another
pathedic
old man still out there flailing away as a USPA2000 sell out,
going along to get along-rying to recapture my vanished
youth, only my youth vanished longer ago than yours and I
wouldn't float up because most of my bulk is still muscle
be safe
Thats not a hero Pierre, its a fat middle aged skydiver with a big
female side out in Nevada, he could probably help little Jerrygirl
though, mother him, buy a beer and hold the crying towel or something
;)P
Jim, why are you calling yourself pretentious?
Fucking hilarious. And true.
bozo
p.s. I expect another attack from Snuffs other self appointed protector
soon.
A shakey ego like yours? Good morning would probably be considered an
attack...you need to learn not to take yourself so serious fat boy,
your glory days in the air if they ever exsisted are over. Your'e a god
only in your own mind....relax, don't take shit so personal, go out,
make your few little blubber jumps every weekend and be thankful----one
other thing
Learn to laugh at yourself....you worry about your flail rep. far to
much.
~it don't mean nothing~ Relax, enjoy the sun while it shines, theres a
lot of humor in skydiving. Ya should be coming home from the dz a happy
camper . If not then your'e letting dz politics get the best of you and
wasting money on a sport that has loads of zen & joy. Perhaps you just
ain't matured enough---you know if skydiving ended for you
today.....tomorrow,
next week the rest of the worlds not going to stop. You will soon be
forgotten by all but one or two....Don't worry Chubby, old unkle snuff
and perhaps Tommydink will remember you, but only in amuzement....All
them kids out there at those California DZ's? "Jim who? Oh yeah that
fat old guy who was unremarkable in the air but dieing to be excepted
for his longivity---he fell out of most the formations didn't he?"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Dayum
Uh oh, Jimbo's getting his blood pressure too high again. lol
Gol dangit---I'm fishing for fancy little perch and here this fat old
Nevada Whale keeps pushing them away to get at the hook....Wreck is
getting to be a tough pond to fish perch in----Think I'll tell a sea
story, wait....thats illegal isn't it? Using TnT to drive off the
whales?
As always, spreading that Redneck MoJo 0~;-* snuffy

What, by quoting the jb don't float maxim? No big deal - he's been
telling us that here for years.

The Valley is only one, very small part of California and there's far
better Zappa song references which to hang on him if any must be hung.
I mean, for you, "Dumb All Over," or maybe "Bobby Brown," come to mind
but for jb? "Elvis Has Just Left The Building," seems to fit.

Yeah....I used to chew Red Man & dip snuff, even in the air if it meant
spiting out a fresh chaw for a 60 sec FF, I'd just board with it. It
grossed the deguello chicks out and the pilot wasn't pleased but The

the camerageek, it's worth dropping down on level just to get a record

No thats a missed grip, you can always pick it up on the transition
unless you're truely out of the formation except in some ways of
counting its over till the next jump....kinda like calling your shots

Yeah, well - you pick up that earlier grip on the transistion to the
next point, you're behind the curve and still out.

Even if he's right there but doesn't have the grips he needs to have
for the point, or just out of reach of whoever's taking grips on him -
that's out. Ain't no point coming with out either.

Yeah, well - your take on things is heavily colored by self-serving
rhetoric. Sour grapes what with theose camera geeks hooting and
hollaring over the vid they'd get of your landings.

Well, then it's a no brainer seeing it coming. The moment you start
flailing out, away, and probably under the formation is the moment to
drop down and get the right angle of you barfing brown juice all over
the skydivers nice enough to jump with you.

Glad they admire F111 turf surfing and classic face plants, two things
skydiving had I really enjoyed till the end, Humor and Zen...I found a
few people whose humor was as outrageous as mine...let them laugh - I
laughed plenty
Damn city slick skydivers...you can be on the ground spitting around
their feet or off the pourch and they gag, weak stomachs you reckon?

More likely a reminder of the first and maybe only time they dipped
and gagged - the smell is distinctive -especially the Redman or the
wormdirt. Turned me green first time I tried it but I did it enough
for a while to where I got to enjoy it - but no so much to make it
part of my lifestyle.

The 36 way 2 pointer...I think the Golden Eagle was a 48 way or
something....dunno its been a while since I looked at the
applications---a 36 way probably seems puny now that SDC hosted all
those 300 ways before Roger died but around here at the time you just
about had to go to Quincy to work on or earn something as big as a
Formal 36 way. Although I saw Waller put together a 48 slot
Weedwascker once back around 1994 or early 95. Stood under it ad
watched from the ground-----nie on perfect, a thing of beauty. Don't
remember the name of the Video guy that shot it, he wasn't a long time
regular in the area
but I watched the film and he did a artfull job. Kudos to him and the
flailers that put it together.....it was just a wonderfull thing to
behold.
Now having finally said something good about a Video Geek let me say
this.
It happened a few months before Jerry went thru FJC...I'm using him as
the benchmark for the USPA Skydivers decline (I mean he displays so
much gear fear and pinnis fixation - like that its a wonder he can even
hold a 2-way in the sight ring ROFL) Also I'm against the Megaways like
300 - their to unwieldy imho and skydivers I admired have died on them.
Got that skygods?
(((LOG IT JERRY)))
I think you're looking at it from the competition point of view
kid
Ive only been in one formal point break skydive, the 1995 POPS
scrambles up at SDD in which 3 other guys got me a bronze and I
probably gypped them out of a Silver or Gold because of having only 219
jumps at the time and strictly being a weekend zoo jumper up to that
point. otoh I look at RW from what goes on durning the Average weekend
at any given DZ that can rub 4 or more skydivers together.
> >> busted grip, missed grip - still out.
Ya shouldn't be so negative kid, most skydivers are never going to be
in a formal competition, they will most probably spend a lifetime of
weekends
just trying to hack out a few points at their favorite DZ. So Attention
Novices; even though you miss a grip, relax and maintain the formations
altitude try to pick it up on the tarnsition to the next point (this
can be difficult because you' now out od sync and however many points
the formation was going for is now blown.....irregardless "soldier on!"
even though your prolly gonna catch hell after you land ROFL ;)

Within hours of making my first jump I was down at NASA where they
were doing the Ballunar Liftoff Demo. Got to see some huge formation
(40 something) fall and starburst and there was a high haze so it was
easily seen - very cool. Several years later I mentioned it a a
bonfire and several people, including a teammate said, "That was me -
I was there."

Actually, the bigger formations involve less flying on the part of the
vidgeek - but as for some benchmark - I think your conclusiion is more
due with me throwing your shit back atcha than with me beginning to
skydive.

building a pre-determined number but only as many as you can.

Yeah, perhaps - I swooped the pond last year and it rocked - ran the
length, dragged a foot for 200 feet, raised a rooster tail, and ran
out of steam about 8 feet from the far shore - settled in the water
standing up, waist deep. You can hear me laughing just before I turn
off the camera while the canopy is flopping ahead of me onto dry land.
First thing I did was go inside to show friends the video because I
knew they'd enjoy it - they did - and I bought beer since it was a
hilarious punctuation to an otherwise, really nice swoop - if I hadn't
dragged my foot so long I woulda made it out.

Nope out was not being tucked into your slot within the formation.
Whether high, low or backed out a missed grip was just a missed grip &
no point for the whole formation as long as you didn't fall out and go
low at Leauge City, Anuax\ch and Waller (basically the same group of
divrs) back when I was around...Then we had what was called being in
the wrong slot which led to more "YOU WERE IN MY SLOT!" shouting
match's then all the rest combined at the post dives ;)

The plan was a minimum of 4 points on the smaller formations like 4 & 8
ways, 2 on 20 ways but everybody went for as many asd they could
get...The 4 & 2 point thing basically followed the USPA's Falcon and
Eagle principles. I think this got rolling because the DZ's always had
more Novices than Master formation people, so we were allways cycling
new ones into the formations & they needed Falcons and Eagles for their
D's later....thats just my surmising now so don't get bent. Them and we
weren't being nice & giving anybody the points, you had to fly your
slot and earn them or be fried to a crisp...The reason a lotta apparent
asshole types worked with the lessor flailers was because this part of
Texas had a lot of competetors, and even the biggest assholes were
looking for fresh meat----so they raised their own ~Capeach~ or am I

High or low, you could still scare the hell out of them

Well yeah but you only have 60 sec, more than the 35 in competition
certainly only if you're going for a 4 point 16 way lets say---10 or
900 things can slow the building down----count was off, base was
blazing...boondoggle in the door, people slow coming in. You ain't
supposed to start till its built or you ain't got a 16 way, last
straggler gets in and the planner keys the first point, you might have
burned anywhere from 15 to 30 sec building...this is weekend pickup
skydiving ya know...some of the people may not even be from your DZ OK
bang pause bang
pause oops somebody miss's a grip...thats 2 points, people are shook
and out of sync now but they pull together and accidently get one more
point before the wave off lets say. OK by the old counting method you
pulled off a 2 point 16 way ya don't go back and add the last point
because you had to start again from zero...you don't go back and add
the points from the prior pratice loads either capeach? You got a
choice of one or a two point dive....not a 3, ya cain't have both....if
you little fukkers are just skipping over the missed grips and
totalling up all the gripped
points on that one freefall your'e cheating---making it far to easy
this method we used came from how we perceived the rules on USPA Falcon
& Eagle Awards. The points had to be consecutive before being
counted...harsh? Probably cuz I remember when I first started working
on my formation skills----thinking "how chickenshit can it get?

That old small fish pond over my the combo apartment hanger has got
more than one video geek wet, Tony went into it to but he was just
following
another canopy videoing it and set up on the pond accidently I
think...he almost made it to the edge hahahahaha. Dick used to have it
plowed around the bank to keep the earth soft and build it up cause
nobody I knew of back then surfed ponds but plenty of people got caught
over it coming off long spots and pitched out in front of their canopys
trying to make the bank....used to be a old lot owner that would ride a
golf cart over and fish in that old pond...I landed on the roof of his
cart once trying to miss a tree on the hangers side of the pond...shit
it was better than landing on that tuft at the S&A Nationals, the old
boy was cool about it, all he said was "youre scaring the fish Mr."
While a funnel might result in people out, it was never suggested that
it was the only way people could find themselves out.

You shouldn't be so negative, boy - "most skydivers are never going to
be in a formal competition, they will most probably spend a lifetime
of weekends just trying to hack out a few points at their favorite
DZ." Btw - tucked in slot or not, not with the grip or where they
can't be gripped - even if it is almost - it's out.

Right - what I said, but just to take the contrary and to follow your
line of "reasoning," You shouldn't be so negative - "most skydivers
are never going to be in a formal competition, they will most probably
spend a lifetime of weekends just trying to hack out a few points at
their favorite DZ."
>Then we had what was called being in

Gee - all the "you were in my slot shouting matches" I've ever seen
involved laughter, kidding, and yucks - not shouting. Kinda
high-strung those "fun" jumpers of those salad day mid 90's, eh?

" Master formation people," tell us another.

No, the key goes to the 2nd point unless the first was a throwaway,

Seems to me that if the dive is say, engineered for 2 different
points, preceeded by a chunk to facilitate the first point...exit -
chunk builds (some might still be out but that's okay cause it's just
a chunk) - key to *first* point - builds - key to next point...and
back to the top of the page - not the exit chunk.
>You got a

You can engineer two points and have it go 2 + X. Called going back
to the top of the page and continuing on.

No, seems quite reasonable to me - anyone can be out and it's a group
effort thing - even if it is for only one person's personal pursuit of
USPA awards.

Naw, I think he's just ignoring you. Might be reading this crap,
might not, but if he is - it's clearly not worth the effort for him to

chickenshit, junior highschool chain yanking variety - I think you're

And a stitch in time might ward off bubonic plague. You gotta point?
Different pond - I've always been able to make it out of the pond
south of the hangar (knock wood) - a lot more mud down there and a
longer walk. A few years back we were being managed by Slaton and
since he was (and is) part of the pantheon of world-class swoop guys,
he convinced Dick to let him put in a swoop trench north of the jetA
tank between the trees west of the runway and north stretch of the
runway. He did a good job.
...bsrp

Yup minutely but the big issue in weekend pick up formations by the GU
rules of the time was all counted points had to be consecutive but
tradition required you carry on and catch a grip on the next transition
if the formation didn't funnel (which it generally did...ya just
slogged them out down to wave off....IF you fell out, you were expected
to keep the formation in sight till break off, then turn and track as
if you were still in it. Kinda hard to see if you were low and directly
under them so the thing to do was pull your legs in, stick your arms
straight out and backslide away till you could sight them. Then just
lurk....course ya hadda watch the altitude---somebody between student
status and their A might be 1000 ft lower after the tumble....Hell I've
seen C's and D's way down there lurking....Jack even fell out on one I
was on and couldn't get back up in time----Never laughed, except at
Jack because I had spent a lotta time low myself....Everybody does till
they learn to fly their body in tight confines & big formation
turbulence....Might not even be the low persons fault. After Jack fell
out and he heard us laughing he pitched a snit and gave everybody a
lecture. You know, one of those loud ones from across the hanger? The
crux of it was....Even fun formations are a team effort and if some SOB
isn't flying their slot right the people on either side of them can
have a brain lock and reach. "SOME OF YOU SORRY M'FERS
NEED TO LEARN TO PRESENT" btw I wasn't in a slot on his side of the
formation in case your wondering.
> While a funnel might result in people out, it was never suggested
that
> it was the only way people could find themselves out.

Yeah like not getting in......Dunno what JB's problem is, Tom said he
floated up, this leads to me to reason either Tom went low or when they
broke grips neither could maintain fall rate and it just looked like a
floatie... hard to tell, they might have been doing Robins or some
other type of small way....Just about had to be because big formations
tend to slow down as they build....Anyway I bet Tommy dinks sorry he
ever mentioned it. If you get out that way and their together again,
talk them into doing some line abreast fly around drills...this will
tell on the guilty party and help with their altitude control
problems...It takes two to Tango and I ain't to sure Tom ain't the one
dipping ;)
busted grip, missed grip - still out.
Sounds more serious than that, maybe they wern't even in the same
airspace after the exit hahahahaha
you're getting this from some
video?
You gotta point?
Sour grapes what with theose camera geeks hooting and
hollaring over the vid they'd get of your landings.

Actually, you'd arm out and back up if you were dropping beneath, turn
90 (easier to see the formation that way when lower and the side of
the head flat catches more air than the face craning up to keep an on
the formation), and make big. Pulling in the legs will back you out
but will do nothing to catch air to get back up to level.

To a degree but working to get back in.

Thats why I said turn your chin and side slip or back up till your far
enoug out to catch sight of the outter ring....If you cain't see the
formation your going to have to move....the old hands recommended a 360
along with a look down first Cause you don't know who else fell out
and where they might be...ya don't wanna back over or slide into any
UFO's.
To you its about getting back up and it won't be hard because you've
jumped camera and flitted around formations shooting since about jump
100 isn't it? The Novices have to learn some rules first and from
scratch....then they have to fall out and pratice them...you know kinda
pratice backing and/or side slipping, breaking arch and hugging the
beach ball etc etc etc turning their chin sideways and rolling their
eyeballs up down and sideways....this shit is being done in the third
dimension, it don't come naturally so they gotta work on it. Thats why
they get their ass's eat out so often at the post dives. Don't be so
self centered kid, just because you have a lotta jumps and can do
certain things with your body-------don't assume everyone can. This is
the root cause of your skygod attitude-----you forgot your own struggle
at 30 or 40 jumps or when ever you started formation work and now with
2500 jumps your trying to walk around acting like you were born in the
air. tsk tsk tsk, maybe its best you just stay a unrated Camera whore,
your not a very deep thinker & fairly impatient Probably would make a
sucky sucky coach or instructor
Most USPA Instruction I saw was given by 30 something year olds and
although they were lithe enough in the air to pass a JCC...They had
that same self involved air you have and could only spiel it out in
rote.
They couldn't get it across very well though because of lack of insight
and wisdom...course the AFF/JM's with fresh ratings were in a sense
beginners their selves ya know learning & earning pratical experience
but I saw some long time AFF/JM's who were ruther duh? duh? duh? types.
No insight. If I happened to do a critique on any of them they got mad
as hell. "Git the fuk out of here! You're a static line student.
Wanna go one to one to settle it buster?
OK you can watch, just quit calling me dilbert and telling my student
"he means this or that"! Don't say nothing now or later I DON'T WANT TO
HEAR IT ASSHOLE! God I lived for that/Make em crack likerotten ice
0~;->
Anyway back to the Novice RW types
Go way low and you' not getting back up which is really a misnomer
"Actually you slow down when you break arch & hug the beach ball And
the formation slowly comes down to you....but same principle ya need to
get off to the side you can do it sideslipping or backing up either
one....if you try to sneak off like the average Novice and track away
don't forget any belly formation is face down and the better RW people
are looking down watching you while they turn points---YOURE GONNA
CATCH HELL LATER and it might be from the ways that exited later plus
the experianced pweople in the formation they were in to start with
(((DON'T DO IT)))
Most total novice formations put "go to the low man" in their dive
plans.
their so desperate for points----a bad habit, screw the low man cuz
youre going to have to unlearn that shit later...
The Deleguello Team Captain and his Lt's were watching us one day...we
had a just off student status 6 way going---even I didn't have a
licence back then, Think we were annoying them or something when Ron
Mills started screaming JUST TURN POINTS WITH WHAT YOU HAVE IN, YOU
BURN TO MUCH ALTITUDE GOING TO THE LOW MAN @#! DUMMYS!
Jack simply said, you're wasting your time. Not ever going to get
better jumping with each other like that...try to weazel in with some
of the experienced fun people. Came down to it we didn't have to, they
felt so sorry for us they asked into our formation...prolly because
some of our shit was so funny..You know we were still at that pumped up
stage...oh yeah, no worry....falcon by tomorrow and the Eagle next
week, were that damn good----Oh yeah were to cool to be true. Plan the
dive on the way up in the plane then Holler READY SET GO till jump run
and door...oh yeah man, we got this thing in the bag HAHAHAHAHAHAHA no
shit, total novices think like that---the D's would be grinning at each
other and saying
"Oh yeah wuffo's you got it, you're gonna blow it in the door.. After a
while Big Larry said, you think all them skygod M'fers can see into the
future or what? "dunno, they have sure been right so far ;)P
Shoot - and what if monkeys were flying out of your ass? You said low
and below and if you're looking to get out from under and up, you get
out from under and up and backsliding out will get you out from under,
sure, but not necesarilly up whereas arms out will still back you out
and keep more air than just a legs in backslide.
>Shit even the ones who funnel to the outside are flailing
>around and cud end up under or under and on the opposite side
Right and if ending up pointed out but still under then legs out even
more to drive out, turn 90 and turn the head to keep things in sight
and catch more air and start working your ass back up.

Which woulda been fine except what you said,
"Kinda hard to see if you were low and directly under them so the
thing to do was pull your legs in, stick your arms straight out and
backslide away till you could sight them..."
doesn't make any mention of turning any chins or slipping any slides.
>To you its about getting back up and it won't be hard because you've
>jumped camera and flitted around formations shooting since about jump

Actually "to me," of course it's about getting back up. You think
it's called going low just because it happens to be out? As for
relative difficulty, depends on the formation and what the diver has
to work with but I never suggested it wasn't hard. As for camera,
tried it when I had about 150 jumps, did fine, didn't pick it up again
for another three or four hundred jumps or so.
>The Novices have to learn some rules first and from

Well, scratch and with the help and experience of others - there is
that.
>then they have to fall out and pratice them...you know kinda

There - you actually said it. Good job - you're learning.

Ummm...actually, it's in all four dimensions. Which 3rd dimension
were you referring to? It usually goes, "Heigth, Width, and then
Depth. So, you mean this shit is being done in a forwards and
backwards, an away from & closer to area of recognition?
> it don't come naturally so they gotta work on it. Thats why
>they get their ass's eat out so often at the post dives.
Near as I can tell, when someone's just skydiving in a single
dimension, say only in Depth or back and forth, with little or no
attention to the 1st, 2nd, or 4th dimensions, they get some shit but
it ain't yelling or ass chewings - that bullshit is for the rare
martinet, disciplinarian assmunches with affirmation issues. Now, if
they blow off the 4th dimension - well then - yeah there's some ass
chewings with some groundings if it becomes a habit.
>Don't be so
>self centered kid, just because you have a lotta jumps and can do
>certain things with your body-------don't assume everyone can.
Oh, that's right - you throw some haphazard "advice" up and get
corrected for it, well then - it's all about me assuming everyone can.
No - just because I suggest turning 90 to the formation and head to
the side is a better option than just backsliding and making big does
not in the least suggest that I assume that everyone can. But then,
just because you're throwing some advice out there does not suggest
that I think you assume everyone can't.
>This is
>the root cause of your skygod attitude--
Right - you throw out some advice and you're not the skygod and I
correct you on some stuff and it's all over me.
>--you forgot your own struggle
>at 30 or 40 jumps or when ever you started formation work
Actually, I got invited on a 4way when I had something like eleven
jumps. As for forgetting the struggle? Naw, I remember how that 4way
went and dives going low or being out or docking hard or not at all.
No one forgets that. But then, the mere fact that I say that when low
an arms out 90 and a make big is more efficient than a legs in
backslide without the 90 is just too much evidence towards forgetting
what it is like when you're trying to learn to skydive, eh?
>and now with
>2500 jumps your trying to walk around acting like you were born in the

Oh yaaaas - because we all know that to hand out advice of any sort -
especially advice which contradicts or corrects something which you
were trying to get across is clearly, acting like someone is born in
the air. Oh, actually it's a little over 3000 but that's not relevant
- the relevance here being the act of correcting you.
>tsk tsk tsk, maybe its best you just stay a unrated Camera whore,
>your not a very deep thinker & fairly impatient Probably would make a

Heehee - deep enough to remember his own struggles while trying to get
some semblance of a clue about flying to remember going low and under
and being taught by his betters about arming out, turning 90 from the
formation, and making big.

your mouth as well? Damn - I bet they all forgot their early
struggles and were "acting like they were born in the air, too, eh?

They need to get off to the side before poping up cuz ya know a
uncoordinated inexperienced person ain't gonna fly up into his slot
their going to come up under a section and steal someones air, that
person will fall on his back while pulling the people on either side
out and a ripple effect will go around the formation and you lose a

yeah or people would start calling yo a sucky flyer for a camera

But, you know - sometimes even inexperinced skydivers do it right.
Could be luck or natural ability or maybe even someone told 'em what
to do and what's possible. They could certainly drop out and under
and they do need to get out from under but getting out from under by
dropping out more ain't a solution - it's getting out while driving
out and back up. Seems to me you just wanna keep new skydivers two
steps behind so you can (if you went to dz's that is) yell at 'em
afterwards - here so you can pretend some sorta bullshit knowledge or
"mastery." <larf>. I say if you're dropping out you need to get back
and if you're under you need to get out from under and this can be
accomplished a lot more efficiently if you cup and drive or slide and
in so doing, use that air to assist you in driving or sliding out with
minimum level lost - and so to remain that much closer to getting back
in.
>that
>person will fall on his back while pulling the people on either side

And ya know? Sometimes that person will drive or slide out from under
and up near where he needs to be quickly and efficiently. Didn't know
they had it in them but ya know, many do - just a matter of
understanding what's possible and going for it. Little luck ain't bad
either.
>a lotta these USPA types cain't take a hard hit, somebody might

Comes with the territory sometimes, ya know?
>He funnled, thats tensing up and now he's
>probably shook up...if he gets back up his next problem is "where is
>his slot?
Maybe he took a hit and couldn't take it, eh? Yeah, well - why bother
having new jumpers along at all, eh? They're just gonna be going from
out of the frying pan into the fire, no doubt? You sound like someone
trying to organize a dive for your own personal glory rather than
maybe giving a new jumper a taste of what's possible.
>While all this has been going on the formation is burning
>altituse beause in all probability
>they have been watching him and waiting to see what he's going to do

Hell, they could be making faces at each other, for that matter - duh
- yeah - the formation all this time has been burning altitude. It's
primarily that 1st and 4th dimension thing, ya know?
>Nope screw him, he ain't getting back in...needs a few hundred jumps

Fuck'n skygod.
>if he can get back up fine but he needs to lurk

Of course, you could hip him to this good idea before the jump but ya
know? A new jumper who does head's up things? Gotta search harder
for an excuse to belittle them and make yourself feel good. Best not
tell him before - the little bastard might follow directions.
>If he ain't looking and knowing
>which way and when to track he might get his block knocked off....
And ya know? Do you think that maybe before the dive when a breakoff
altitude was mentioned - he mighta been been listening? Nawww!!!!
Sorry - that was ridiculous, I know.
>Lets
>just pray if he's in anybodys track line he can out track them..
Well, if he's out he's got a head start so that's gotta help and if
he's low, aside from right of way, someone tracking from behind
towards that vector should be able to pick him up and keep clear while
keeping an eye on him. Shit, I'm surprised you had this suppositional
skydiver along in the first place - sure complaining and worrying a
lot over his ass, theortical though it may be.
>better
>off if he stays low or goes on up and scares the hell out of the
>Cameraman I'm thinking.
Yeah - anything's better than someone dropping out of a formation and
getting back up into the formation - at least anything's better than
this happening on a formation you might be on. Just keep in mind the
guy isn't trying to get back in as a matter of rubbing your face in it
- though it might seem that way - he just probably wants to get back
in because that's where it's at - it's what was practiced on the
ground.
>I'd go for the Video Geek myself and score extra points
Had a fellow try that once - saw him coming a mile away. Rodeo'd his
ass. He said he'd thought I'd be focused on the formation and
wouldn't see him coming. Can't blame him for trying.

Are we talking about the theorectical new jumper on this theoretcial
skydive or jb? Doesn't matter - don't need a special suit to turn a
90, turn the head, and start cupping air.

pitching out.

Oh, you're talking video - I see - thought you were talking about
maybe an amusing rw jump I'd made before. As for video, naw, haven't
crashed a formation yet that I wasn't back up over within a few
seconds (knock wood) and actually, been lucky - haven't so much as
brushed a tail since early 2002 (knock wood bigtime). I'm due.

I admit, I drink enough beer and eat enough dz food - later when I'm
sitting in the portocan and working the bind out - you have indeed

Whats this? I thought you said I wasn't experienced enough to be a
skygod
Less than 400 RW jumps? Gripping left right up down? Call me sticky
wicky
You got 2500 video jumps? Mostly OUT, WITH NO GRIPS? you no got the
wicky or sticky, you be the cain't get a grip skygod sonnyboy 0~;-*
Being a skygod has little to do with skydiving ability. It's really
little more than an insult which describes an attitude of arrogance.
>Less than 400 RW jumps? Gripping left right up down? Call me sticky

Naw, dingleberry is so much more apropos.
>You got 2500 video jumps?
Naw - maybe a thousand less than that.
>Mostly OUT, WITH NO GRIPS?
Hell, even when you were trying to be in with grips - it rarely
worked out that way.
>you no got the
>wicky or sticky,
Whatever the fuck that is. Imagine my loss.
>you be the cain't get a grip skygod sonnyboy
Naw, ain't me saying that just because someone goes low and can't get
back in means they need a few hundred more jumps. Going low is not
uncommon. It happens more to new jumpers but in most of the cases
I've seen - the experienced jumpers who do it (and they do) catch a
lot more shit for it. Is this why you're so bitter? You go low,
publicly humiliate yourself (or, at least, you imagine yourself
humiliated), someone says you need at least a few hundred jumps more
to come along again and then comes that sitsuit oblivion? Is that
what went down? Several hundred jumps not enough for you?

Try to focus ding bat, now who do you think was causing the missed
grips, Jimbo or Tom B? Never assume anything in this sport. Tommy seems
less skygoddy than Jimbo but he may have been screwing the bozo....you
understand what latent homosexuality is don't ya? Well latent skygods

Haven't seen the vid but based on the idea of two skydivers missing
grips, the answer might well be relative if you're looking to assign
blame for such a thing.
>Never assume anything in this sport.
What, like it's okay to fly maybe "on the edge" because of the
assumption that everyone has an AAD? It's an asssumption you've made.
How 'bout it?
>Tommy seems
>less skygoddy than Jimbo but he may have been screwing the bozo....
Why's this? Because Tommy yanks your chain while jb pretty much
displays contempt for you or do you have some other factor in mind
when assigning skygoddy status to people you've both never met or ever
jumped with?
>you
>understand what latent homosexuality is don't ya?
Well, I certainly suspect your hidden desires - that's a pretty sloppy
pass, Jinnie - but in a real world experience sort of venue, no - I'm
the whuffo when it it comes to that. Whuffo you homo?
>Well latent skygods
>exsit also you know,
So, if their "skygoddiness" is latent then I would certainly say that
your propensity for skygod behaviour is blatant.

You have nothing to worry about - latent to skydiving as you are.
...bsrp
...jlk
Wrong, a modern AAD like the cypres is more a money issue than a choice
issue....if most people had a choice including me, they wudda had or
have a cypres...I chose beer and block jump tickets over a AAD
I can see the pro's and con's both ways...theres a go low stage most
skydivers go thru...usually below 200 jumps starting at about 50 and
tapering off at around 150 or 175 somewhere. They learn to trust their
gear and packing at around 30 or 40 jumps the last dregs of unease are
gone by 50 so they begin to push the edge by experimenting and trying
to advance air skills faster...In that stage a AAD might cause them
some problems...either way if they have one it usually effects their
thinking
"Shit no problem, I cain't bounce or get hurt now." ((((((WRONG))))))
Dead Mike had one I'm sure...we went thru FJC around the same time at
the old SPX...I developed a distaste for AAD's because the student gear
had FXC's on them back then, they rattled when you moved & being about
the size a cigarette pack or two gouged ya thru the rig, even though on
the reserve flap side of the container, Gouged yo right between the top
of the shoulder blades below or around T5. We got a lecture one safety
day
that amounted to: You renters blow a FXC cutter on one of our student
rigs you pay $50, the thing was the one's we had were apt to activate
plus or minus between----->Exit and Ground level plus or minus
hahahahaha
When you started in 95, most of the student rigs may have had that new
fangled Cypress but by then I had made a few hundred zoo jumps sans aad
and saw them as uneasy for heads up skydivers like me, hell I had a
Bronze RW medal didn't I? (see, this is how all skydivers worth their
salt think secretly I'm thinking "I won't be the one to burn in, it
will be somebody else!"
Factor in the Cypres Natzi's attitudes and I'm ready to fight because
it becomes a choice option in my mind. I notice the DZ's that require
them, never offer you a deep wholesale discount to buy one thru them
plus many
of those same AAD mandantory DZO's may say "Hook Rurning Allowed"
More people now days die under canopy likely as not.
This is not only poor thinking and a double standard but lead's me to
believe its a profit issue to them M o n e y, the same issue I
mentioned
when speaking of why many skydivers still o not have them

We CoVans didn't know many of the PLF/NLF in our A.O.'s personally but
that didn't stop us from reading them like a open book then
interdicting
All it takes is the best training available and practical experience
understanding the culture...course being a tricky thinker or having a
devious mind didn't hurt any either HAHAHAHAHAHAHA DAYUM

The bottom of the problem is rooted in you having a problem with two
other people you've never met, never jumped with, making a skydive
you've never seen.

Well then, since you don't then any and all consideration of the

supposition and any conclusion comes down to pure assumption.

That is supposition arriving at an assumption.

>Hes got a raving case of USPA ego you know
Gee - is that a subtle attempt to draw him out? Whoa - how could he
not go for such intriguing bait?

Not assign blame, just get to the bottom of the problem....if I had
video
of it, the cause would stand out like a red barn and the case would be
closed. Perhaps I could help them fix it although one or both would
probably end up totally pissed off...I have a long time NCO's eye for
detail. Devil Woman sent me a tape of the @ boogie down in Florida
years ago, she tacked some RW formations on the end...I critiqued them
right on wreck, shit Jimbo didn't talk to me for six months afterward.
Hes got a raving case of USPA ego you know <evil grin>

What, assign blame? Yeah, that sounds about right coming from you.
>Solving problems and
>turning out some points?
Oh, that - the point to relative work is as varied as there are people
who fly it but usually the idea is to plan a dive, make a dive, and
it's only after that points become relevant and for some,
they'realways far from relevant. Points sometimes results but for the
really good, like champions, I've ever heard talk on the subject - it
ain't about the points - they'll come or they won't. Forcing it is
self-defeating.
>Thats why divrs get benched, their screwing
>the pooch...
Divers get "benched" for a variety of reasons but usually the axe only
is falling on parts of bigways where the goal is not so much to turn
points, but building the formation and if sequential, size and moving
through the sequence - but those examples in of themselves do not
constitute all that rw is.

It was just one bitter experience after another for you in skydiving,
I gather.

You mean like you trying to figure out who is to blame (as if anything
was to be blamed) concerning this suppostiional dive of jb's and
Tom's?

I hear ya - if you had seen it, you'd probably have work more arcane
angles towards the rhetorical bullshit.

Who's causing the missed grips, Jimbo or Tom B?
Truth be known, at their age it was probably a mutual circle jerj
Haven't seen the vid but based on the idea of two skydivers missing
grips, the answer might well be relative if you're looking to assign
blame for such a thing.

Isn't that the whole object of formation work? Solving problems and
turning out some points? Thats why divrs get benched, their screwing
the pooch...Geeze if they benched each other, we would have nothing to
make fun of. Well perhaps not another pair of vain peckerwoods would
probably be along in a minute blaming each other for the seperation
