Yeah, well - if he had started jumping before everyone else he could
have had the first one. Could have been lower is a stupid argument -
only relevant to morons who place some sort of status in someone
having a lower number than someone else.
Little different from any idiot who buys a small canopy because it's a
low number. Morons.
"Oh, just think of the *extra status* if you had sent it in sooner!
You cudda had a LOWER NUMBER!" Morons.
>their all over the place down there playing shuffle board and bochie

Saw more than a few watching the jumpers land the last time I was at
ZHills (where left turns are impossible) and one little old lady gave
back far more than you ever have - as I was gathering up my main she
told me about her grandson that skydived, how neat she thought it was.

But because he didn't give a rat's ass is.

Apply or not? Depends. You did it for imagined status - you wanted
to be like the D's who could stand up their landings and who were
asked on interesting skydives and somehow you came to the retarded
conclusion that all that would come once you had your D - a moronic
reason. Rick didn't bother until he needed one - an intelligent
reason.
>thats a no brainer even for a senile old wuffo
>DUH
The double entendre is just way too fucking easy. Anyone who sends
off for a license, any license, because they think once they have it
they will advance to some higher "status" and, for instance, no longer
have to listen to other people who they might deem as "knowitall" - as
if anyone has to listen to such before the license was granted - is
the epitome of a person who has no brain - and that's a no brainer.

As did everyone else who made the jumps and earned theirs but you lie

climbing the ladder - having to prove to others that you were anything
other than what you were - a toad without ability.

>>The double entendre is just way too >fucking easy. Anyone who sends

No, I'm licensed and rating? Nothing on paper but that never got in

Why not? You see - often I've been in the air with students and non
licensed novices. In fact, sometimes not only are mylift tickets
covered by someone else in those situations but sometimes I even am
compensated for my efforts.
>OH WAIT....I forgot, you are a unlicenced
>novice...
Sure, if you want to spin it that way except I do have a license but
that's just an inconvienent reality you'll just have to deal with -
there's people out there with more experience than I'll probably ever
attain. In that respect, sure I'm a novice but it's no skin off my
ass. That said, an unlicensed novice with more than 5 times the
number of jumps you ever made and exactly one less experience of
putting myself into the position of having to make an uncontrolled
crash into tarmac which sent me to the hospital and out of the sport
than you.
>ain't that what you just confessed

Man, you're really grasping at straws now aintcha? Some of that

stand up my landings, too. So, you're gonna get a switch now and do

Why DAMN RIGHT? Was it the dream of imagined status, were you
catching so much shit, would having a D with as low a number as was
possible bring about such a stunning change in the social order? So,
you didn't go around saying it was in the mail like someone else and
others. Whoopty shit - you still sent off for every license the
absolute moment you could - you were starving for pecking order. All
those D's who would read you the riot act (or just ridicule you)
whenever you (often) pulled a grand or even minor stupid you hoped
would finally leave you alone once you had a D to prove that "you were
just like them." That, and you could then take your D, and with great
pretense, blather at people with lesser licenses (and who might not
know any better) from the pedestal of having a D. Funny, how once
they jumped with you and took your measure they tended to move on and
jump with other people (becoming "skydgods" in your book). Status?
Ability? Experience? The D imparts none of that.

I've always found with guys like Snuffie, in the military and skydiving , if
you have attained something more than they have you are immediately relegated
to asskisser or skygod. There arent many variables with guys like these...they
are all broken from the same mold.

Cast out of Heaven because of ENVY, no less.

>no surgar coating,
>no grey areas...
Excepting unflattering conclusions pertaining to you, that is.
>there it is in black
>and white and apparently offensive
>to the self important politically
>correct skydivers of the world
As there is stupid and intelligent and, your own personal application
of grey aside, that indeed has proven to be certainly offensive to you
- a person who would rationalize and even herald multiple fractures to
a limb requiring a trip to, surgery at, and stay in a hospital as a
cure for a previous condition, thus legitimizing the stupidity of
being in the position to be unable to avoid such injury in the first
place. So politically correct as to suggest that if certain gear is
worn by certain people that those certain people are certainly members
of either an odious or praiseworthy caste - nevermind the relative
airworthiness of the equipment determining the caste's relegation.
>You on the other hand think like
>a constipated skygod
And then there's the "skygod" card - essentially, anyone who either,
back when you were jumping, urged you to straighten up, fly right, and
refrain from being such a pig headed and dangerous butthead, declined
to jump with your or have you along on their dives because you
wouldn't refrain despite the urgings of people who had been there
before while you had never, and people who just plain don't agree with
your line of crap expressed here, know what they are talking about,
and have tracked mud into your imagined little electronic fief. I'd
rather lay in mud then swim in shit. Those are the main three but
there are many other examples of what you would consider a skygod but
even I can only make a sentence run on so long.

any little rating issued by some central and remote office.

In retrospect, but that didn't cross your mind beforehand. But then,
neither did hanging the harness to find out if you even had the
*ability* to reach, unstow, and keep a grip of the toggles. That's
retrospect too but then, that wasn't realized beforehand, either.
>but
>I wudda ended up in the refinery unable to make it back to the runway
Bad spot and poor choices - shoulda spotted better and shoulda steered
for an open field further downwind (of which there are plenty).
Definitely shoulda steered to avoid that long, narrow strip of runway.
>and get
>my dropfoot problem fixed
Which was only an incidental effect of crashing uncontrolled into a
runway and required the assistance of doctors to make it happen.
Seems to me that there are far more efficient methods to initiate a
medical procedure (not that that was your goal when you left the

runway.

Funny, when I had around 50 jumps and was talking to this very
experienced skydiver, I mentioned during the course of the
conversation that I thought he was a skygod - I also didn't understand
the weight that for some people it carries. He looked a little put
out and asked me what I meant and understanding he thanked me for the
compliment but he did explain the concept that some people consider
skygods as representing aloof and proud people who think thyey are
better and more knowledgable than anyone else in the sport. I chewed
on this for a bit and suggested that people who would think that must
have inferiority complexes and feel inferior when someone else appears
to be superior - that it's in their own head. He chewed on that and
agreed. There are assholes in the sport just as there are in society
but anyone who would call someone else a skygod is really just saying
how inferior they feel than the other way around.

Bottomline, JerryK.....a real skygod knows he/she is.....and doesnt need the
notariety of the name......whereas the poser tells everyone they are....which
is tantamount to advertising their stupidity on a billboard.
On the otherhand.....we have the slugs of the sport who have no hope of ever
attaining anything.....they use the term "skygod " as a weapon and a dirty

Yeah - it's certainly "guys like these" - though fortunately they are
few. Most figure it out before they break themselves or worse, but I
don't think it's specifically a military condition. I've known many
skydivers, and whuffos for that matter, with either past or present
military experience (two buds currently serving overseas) and I would
say that all of them, except for Jimmy, understand the difference
between being in or having been in the military - benefits, warts, and
all, and posturing as military for the sake of trying to stand out.
When I taught fencing, sometimes we'd get students from A&M through
the program with previous fencing experience and on the whole, they
were just regular guys and gals - there to fence. But you could
always count on at least one person, because they had prior experience
and wanted to flaunt it who would act like an asshole, thinking they
were a cut above, whether they had the skill or not. As a rule, they
didn't. People who do that, whether they are, are not, or ever were
in the military or had ever picked up a blade are nothing more than
posers - trying to either stand out and often trying to enforce their
sensibilities upon others because to not do so means accepting that
all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into their service only
carries over into society in a grand, encompassing sense of purpose as
opposed to a sense of personal purpose. Essentially, such behavior is
a selfish attempt at trying to feel less inferior. A cry for help.

Heh - just because I take real examples of what you write and real
examples of circumstances you put yourself into, instances where you
fell painfully short of the mark presupposes I think that I'm a better
skydiver than I really am. No, just that I'm better than you - which
is certainly not saying much and beside the point since that could be
said of virtually everyone out there skydiving but as for me, what I
think is also beside the point. What the record shows, certainly as
compared with your record, doesn't make me think but absolutely
confirms that in a skydiving pissing contest between two of us you do
not measure up. Admittedly, this is a subjective conclusion but I'm
more than willing to take it into the objective - that is, if you hold
true to aschew the employment of "grey areas" in skydiving or even
circumstance or reasoning which is beside the point of skydiving.

This may well be true but what you term as abuse I construed as
constructive criticism.
>Whats
>20 bucks more down the uspa toilet

Only $20 but the accomplishment exists with, or without portfolio -
you ust can't pull it out of your wallet and extoll the number
sequence to anyone who might disagree with you in lieu of an argument-
you have to prove it in the air, each and every dive.

Which is a dumb answer since the Pony Express concluded its run long
before the advent of flight. I ain't here to call you old or make
references to bygone postal operations as some sort of suggestion or
connection that you're venerable or even experienced. So, you think
you can help us along with some old timey philosophy - fine - lately
it's been about how people who don't send in for their D license the
MOMENT they have the jumps fucked up. Yet you have yet to with your
old timey philosophy explain how such people are fucking up - only
alluding that it is better to do it immediately rather than later.
Hence, my query as to the philosophy and advice suggesting, "Express
Mail."
Try again. Signal fire to HQ? Semaphore? Runners staged atop the
Great Wall? "Watson, come quickly! I need my D license!"

That's true but you didn't even give it that. Best shot would have
included finding the time for ground prep, practice, bracing the bad
leg against impact, hanging the harness, arranging for a single toggle
steering and flaring system, identifying the spot, steering away from
bad landing areas, thinking things through.

That's the key - you're talking trappings of affluence rather than the
simple experience and joy of doing it.
>Hopefully before the BOD's stupid assed coaching rule! Talk about fukking up a

No, the rite is still in place - just now instead of novices having to
skydive with people who, here and there, couldn't fly their way out of
a paper bag, now there is some consistancy towards the teaching and
skills amongst the novices - which makes for better skydives and
better skydivers.

Sounds to me that not only did they stop it by a cease and desist
order - they also implemented rules to keep you from trying such
foolishness again. There was a time when common sense was the rule of
the day and then you showed up and had to be on a bigway but the
people doing bigways had already been burned by your disregard for
others in the sky and so they they declinedf. Still wanting to say
you were doing bigways like the bigboys you found a bunch of novices
who didn't know what to expect from you and afterwards, what was once
common sense had to be written down for reference.
