about my exit weight 268 and I jumped a Falcon 265 and 244 Sharp shooter... As
the F111 material got older had to split the slider on the falcon to keep from
pounding in on hot summer days with little relative wind..The Sharp shooter was
7 cell and didn't much notice the difference between summer & winter...you
didn't say what 210 prolly zp...it won't give out on lift in summer landings as
bad as the old F111 stuff did...you'll be alright I rukun...pretty smart
waiting till the cool season to downgrade, proceed carefully and hang on to the
old canopy at least thru next summer...you look young on your web page and your
a ruff neck but young to me is 50 and you have a heavier build plus age is
gaining on you...Yeah hang on to the old canopy or at least a year good luck

high and play with it some ..my play canopy is a old 7 cell X-clould 370 SF,
very fun to do cross country flying, up here we like to pull at say 10,000
some 5 miles from the DZ and fly back we carry GPS and handheld aircraft
radio to keep in contact with air control so they know were'll we are at for
local traffic

I also loved your bootcamp story about watching the Marines thru the fence
while you had a stiffy. I went to the same bootcamp but I think they kept you
fruitcakes in another area...luckily for us.

Saw more than a few watching the jumpers land the last time I was at
ZHills (where left turns are impossible) and one little old lady gave
back far more than you ever have - as I was gathering up my main she
told me about her grandson that skydived, how neat she thought it was.
and how much he enjoyed it. Made my day.

Sure, if you want to spin it that way except I do have a license but
that's just an inconvienent reality you'll just have to deal with -
there's people out there with more experience than I'll probably ever
attain. In that respect, sure I'm a novice but it's no skin off my
ass. That said, an unlicensed novice with more than 5 times the
number of jumps you ever made and exactly one less experience of
putting myself into the position of having to make an uncontrolled
crash into tarmac which sent me to the hospital and out of the sport
than you.

ride,,but after 12 years of MFF includeing more HALO's & HAHO's in all kinds
of weather day and night then i would care to remember plus Rec jumping the
past 7 years i should be alright with my new ride. The DZ has a new Cessna
206, we get to try out this weekend should be better then the old wore out
Queen Air. hope to get some vidieo in the air and landings to put on my web
site www.rigtrash.com on the skydiving page...if anyone cares to have

will upload them for the world to enjoy...blue skys guys going to be a fun

90's, the rules were different then, it was legal...
The rules have changed, he & the DZO that allows him to do it with nothing more

I've always found with guys like Snuffie, in the military and skydiving , if
you have attained something more than they have you are immediately relegated
to asskisser or skygod. There arent many variables with guys like these...they
are all broken from the same mold.
As an afterthought....the term "skygod" wasnt a dirty word when I started
skydiving and I still dont see it as such.

As there is stupid and intelligent and, your own personal application
of grey aside, that indeed has proven to be certainly offensive to you
- a person who would rationalize and even herald multiple fractures to
a limb requiring a trip to, surgery at, and stay in a hospital as a
cure for a previous condition, thus legitimizing the stupidity of
being in the position to be unable to avoid such injury in the first
place. So politically correct as to suggest that if certain gear is
worn by certain people that those certain people are certainly members
of either an odious or praiseworthy caste - nevermind the relative
airworthiness of the equipment determining the caste's relegation.

And then there's the "skygod" card - essentially, anyone who either,
back when you were jumping, urged you to straighten up, fly right, and
refrain from being such a pig headed and dangerous butthead, declined
to jump with your or have you along on their dives because you
wouldn't refrain despite the urgings of people who had been there
before while you had never, and people who just plain don't agree with
your line of crap expressed here, know what they are talking about,
and have tracked mud into your imagined little electronic fief. I'd
rather lay in mud then swim in shit. Those are the main three but
there are many other examples of what you would consider a skygod but
even I can only make a sentence run on so long.

Funny, when I had around 50 jumps and was talking to this very
experienced skydiver, I mentioned during the course of the
conversation that I thought he was a skygod - I also didn't understand
the weight that for some people it carries. He looked a little put
out and asked me what I meant and understanding he thanked me for the
compliment but he did explain the concept that some people consider
skygods as representing aloof and proud people who think thyey are
better and more knowledgable than anyone else in the sport. I chewed
on this for a bit and suggested that people who would think that must
have inferiority complexes and feel inferior when someone else appears
to be superior - that it's in their own head. He chewed on that and
agreed. There are assholes in the sport just as there are in society
but anyone who would call someone else a skygod is really just saying
how inferior they feel than the other way around.

Yeah - it's certainly "guys like these" - though fortunately they are
few. Most figure it out before they break themselves or worse, but I
don't think it's specifically a military condition. I've known many
skydivers, and whuffos for that matter, with either past or present
military experience (two buds currently serving overseas) and I would
say that all of them, except for Jimmy, understand the difference
between being in or having been in the military - benefits, warts, and
all, and posturing as military for the sake of trying to stand out.
When I taught fencing, sometimes we'd get students from A&M through
the program with previous fencing experience and on the whole, they
were just regular guys and gals - there to fence. But you could
always count on at least one person, because they had prior experience
and wanted to flaunt it who would act like an asshole, thinking they
were a cut above, whether they had the skill or not. As a rule, they
didn't. People who do that, whether they are, are not, or ever were
in the military or had ever picked up a blade are nothing more than
posers - trying to either stand out and often trying to enforce their
sensibilities upon others because to not do so means accepting that
all the blood, sweat, and tears that went into their service only
carries over into society in a grand, encompassing sense of purpose as
opposed to a sense of personal purpose. Essentially, such behavior is
a selfish attempt at trying to feel less inferior. A cry for help.

fell painfully short of the mark presupposes I think that I'm a better
skydiver than I really am. No, just that I'm better than you - which
is certainly not saying much and beside the point since that could be
said of virtually everyone out there skydiving but as for me, what I
think is also beside the point. What the record shows, certainly as
compared with your record, doesn't make me think but absolutely
confirms that in a skydiving pissing contest between two of us you do

bad landing areas, thinking things through.

skydive with people who, here and there, couldn't fly their way out of
a paper bag, now there is some consistancy towards the teaching and
skills amongst the novices - which makes for better skydives and

So, now you're saying you made the jump so you could ultimately take
on the aspect of some imaginary pirate villain from a children's
story? Yeah, okay. So, go to the doctor or Sweden or some costume
shop and get the change you want. Trying to traumatize your limbs to
the point of removal for medical necessity merely by impacting them
hard onto pavement hardly seems paticularly efficient. What sort of

Sounds to me that not only did they stop it by a cease and desist
order - they also implemented rules to keep you from trying such
foolishness again. There was a time when common sense was the rule of
the day and then you showed up and had to be on a bigway but the
people doing bigways had already been burned by your disregard for
others in the sky and so they they declinedf. Still wanting to say
you were doing bigways like the bigboys you found a bunch of novices
who didn't know what to expect from you and afterwards, what was once
common sense had to be written down for reference.

nah I was in such bad shape and had lain out for 3 years trying to learn to
walk again
after the stroke so the argreement was it had to be a level 5 6 or 7....he had
ahold of my harness and pulled me out! ;)P
