The www.xcskiforum.com now seems to get a bit more activity than I
have seen out here recently.

That doesn't appear to be true if you take out Ken Roberts' posts and
bike-related ones. A few more newbie questions there, since a
google search on 'xc ski discussion' points to that forum and to
Roberts' site right off.

checked it out. Looks like an over-moderated over-categorized forum
with not that many posts. A discussion group of "grooming"? With zero
posts?

Like RSN, xcskiforum is sort of well...seasonal. Most folks take the
summer off, and activity is starting pick up as we get closer to the
ski season. I've found it to be a pretty good resource, and far from
over-moderated.

Two of the nice things about it are standard forum features:
