Toko HF white and Swix FC1 compare

Hi,

Since a few years, I've got the impression that the pure fluoro
carbons like swix's FC1 are certainly valuable for the vendor but that
the advantage is not huge. But since everybody does it and it should
be good I always put it on top of my wax of the day on the race skis.

To test I waxed two pairs of skis:
Softtrack skate with Toko HF white (blend of blue and red)
Hardtrack skate with Toko HF white

On both pairs, one ski got a layer of rub on Swix FC1, ironed in,
corked and brushed a lot. I put a small sticker on the "cera ski".

I skied the soft track pair a few days ago in fresh falling snow 20cm
deep at -6 oC and both pairs today on hard tracks with some cm of
fresh snow on top and some humidity (snowball possible) at about zero
oC.

At both occasion it was really hard to distiguish beween the "cera
ski" and the other. Since the first test was during night I could not
identify the ski by eye. I had to bent down to see the small sign I
put. Anyway, in both cases I gave a very small advantage to the Toko
Wheit HF ski. I made a friend of mine skiing on one of the pairs. Same
result: very small advantage for the ski without Cera.

Surprising, no? Did anybody the same? Are we fooled by the expensive
wax we buy?
