It looked like the finish was in the Mt.Baldy parking lot.

There was no snow visible, just like usual.

It was over 70 degrees up there. I couldn't really see where one might ski.

The last three hairpin turns were around the lowest levels of the
parking lot. I imagine all the finish line paraphernalia was placed
in the upper levels.

On an ideal day, the snow level is right at the parking lot, so one
can ski all the way down and not need to chain up to get up. On a
typical day, the snow level is several hundred feet up, requiring a
chair ride down at the end of the day.

All the compounds were located on the same parking lot level as the Hut.
There was one small lot above us at the end. Looked like that was as high
as it went. The finish line was right after the last hairpin. Quite a
climb for those guys and no break until it ended.
