personal theory is he actually did give up years ago but he is impersonated
by his friend Bert, who also occasionally pretends to be a washed up
backcountry guide named Jeff from Jackson Hole. All three appear to talk
with different voices but sometimes he slips and one of them talks like the
other. Bert almost never posts as himself anymore.
Nobody should waste time trying to talk sense to any of them (him). Its like
talking to a wall. An emotionally unbalanced wall. Best thing to do is just
killfile Scott. In the last 10 years he has very rarely posted anything
different from what you have already seen. That's it, you've already seen it
all. Then when you log onto the group and see the post list climb to 50 or
so and then drop to 10 you can thank yourself for saving all that time
scrolling through repetitive drivel to see what actually was posted by
(relatively) normal people. As time goes by you will notice a handful of
posters who are here only to pull Scotts chain. I kilfile them as well. Some
of them are courteous enough to snip Scott from their replies, some are not.
