It appears that a couple of guys have bought the remains of Uemis with plans to get it back into production.

Why did it go bankrupt?

Bad management. Same reason every company goes broke. Great looking
computer. I was close to getting one but ended up getting a Mares Icon
once Uemis went belly up.

Looks interesting.

Any idea of the anticipated retail price? It didn't jump out at me on
their website.

...its to figure out if it is a reasonable value. <g>

There's some features on it that I like, but they're not particularly
critical to the type of diving I most typically do, so its more of a
case of 'want' rather than 'need'. Mostly, I'm seeking if this is
expected to be competing at around the $500 device level, at the a $1K
device level, more, less, etc.

I was just being tongue in cheek. But I suspect it's quite pricy. It
looks (from the website) to be very advanced. But as you say the tool
has to be right for the work. This seems very Buck Rogersish but it may
have the elements that some divers need and a lot more 'want'.

I apologize. Sometimes the truth should remain unsaid.

I would never^ sully this hallowed precinct with politics.

^Reacting to them is another matter.

You must be relatively new here (yeah, I know) as scuba itself can be
quite political. ;-)
