That's a shame. I should have gone on that LDS trip a couple years
ago. The radiation waiver was interesting, as were their peculiar
dive computer restrictions - I believe all three of my computers were
disallowed for one reason or another - but it was the flight there
that worried me the most.
I keep thinking about going back. This news reduces that probability.
Uwatec was acceptable to them, although not on their preferred list. I used
air settings and boarded last on every dive. The two-gas or multi-gas
models allowed for shorter decompression times. I didn't really care since
there wasn't anything I'd rather be doing. I don't remember the radiation
waiver but I do remember the $40 grand that was required without DAN or
similar dive insurance. You've taken longer flights than the one to Bikini
Atoll. I don't mind the puddle jumpers. Flying low you get a better view.
