10K training strategy
Normally, I'd follow an online training plan like Hal Higdon's. Higdon's 10K plan lasts 8 weeks. However, my next 10K (AZ Senior Olympics) is six weeks after my marathon, and I'll need recovery time after the marathon before starting to train for the 10K. So what would be my best strategy to train for the 10K? (And... more »

More Marathon Running Training Videos
I found this series of videos at the New Balance site, by a pair of coaches. They're aimed at beginning/int people with a goal of running marathons. I've watched many of them, and enjoy them. Here's the first one, and the others are listed alongside: [link] rms

are plimsolls safe to run?
I read about the benefits of barefit running, and it makes a lot of sense, however for one to jump into barefeet running is quiet difficult. I have been considering buying a pair of plimsolls to emulate running barefoot, does anyone do this for serious training? I mean cushioned trainers didn't really get exist till like 1990s I... more »

So why do I run?
Is it to be winner: for the trophies, the laurels glimmering from afar? Is it to celebrate myself and my own achievements? Is it so that I can kiss myself in the mirror? Is it about wrenching from the hand of the almighty, more of the gift that he has already given me? Is it to be fit, strong, healthy, tough, or beautiful? Is it so that I can complete... more »

Wool
Past few days I've been looking for clothing to wear during the winter time, what I have now works for the most part, but most of it is synthetic and stinks to high hell no matter how many times I wash it. After some research I was turned on to wool and other natural fibers. I think because of my lack of experience and not being in a running club that... more »

resolution for 2010
Keeping it simple here ... I will do my best to run inside less this winter than I did last winter. I probably had 10 or 12 days inside running last winter. The resolution will get put to the test immediately this week as a long string of temperature predictions point to a week of day time highs only in the 20's.... more »
