Live coverage of the marathon was essentially non-existent. What coverage there was in the morning news shows was mainly about the security measures. I finally found newsnet5.com had a streaming video of the finish line. So I got to see the winners briefly.

I haven't been running with a stopwatch and of late I've been distracted from
running mostly recently. Anyway with a stopwatch on board, I ran 3 miles in 20 minutes no extra seconds. ON the other hand my upper body is still recovering and will need work to get the push ups and pulls to acceptable numbers. Advice for sprinting?

My daughter currently runs 100m in 23 sec. I looked up track meet results for her age group and see the average is about 17 sec. Is there any hope on improving her time? Can anyone recommend any links or youtube videos explaining sprinting technique and form? Many thanks.

I'm going to be away from the computer for a while, so I thought to post this update because I'll be missing John's thread.
Simply put, I've walked 5K every day for the first ten days of the month. I'll be resting today and tomorrow (road trip), and should get back into it on Monday. My plan is to walk 5K every day for the rest of the month... more »
