The above is posted on Facebook by Dr. Mark Cheng. Mark talks to
runners about why and how to perform this exercise.

This is a great movement, and if you don't have a kettlebell, the type
of weight with which he demonstrates, worry not - it's great with no
extra resistance at all, or you can put a dumbbell on a box to make it a
good height for you.

Of course, the dumbbell will yield radically inferior results to the
kettlebell, use it only as a last resort.... riiiiight????

That looks really interesting.

Now he didn't address what you should do if you find an imbalance between left and right leg. Do you just increase the repeats for the "weak" side? something like 3 left, 5 right if your right leg is "weaker"?

Curious.

It wouldn't be uncommon to find a discrepancy between sides. The
question is whether it's a difference of strength or for some other
reason, e.g., a compensation for an old injury or something along those
lines. One could do as you suggest and work the weaker side a little
extra, but most of the time, just working both sides equally will help
the weaker side catch up. As long as the difference isn't huge, it's
OK.

Done with opposite hand and leg, this movement is often quite revealing,
and it doesn't need a lot of weight to be effective - I often practice
it with no weight at all, just touching the ground with the opposite
hand or both hands.
