While they're at it, do you think they could can Head Spin and bring
back Corkscrew? Oh yeah, let's not forget the flyers and the rocket
ships, too.

The only coaster that makes visiting the park worthwhile is Big
Dipper. I don't care what they do with the rest of 'em.
Why is adding rides always the only viable option?
I, for one, am happy that Steel Venom and X-Flight are gone. Sure, I
liked those rides, but they just didn't belong at Geauga Lake.
Josh
They've already gotten rid of one of the
only rides I would go to GL to
ride .... X-flight. I like Villain and
Big Dipper, but it's not worth the
extra drive for one or two rides.

Six Flags didn't belong at Geauga Lake.
I'm glad that SF aquiring the place saved Big Dipper, but Geauga Lake
is a formerly wonderful traditional park now diseased by Six Flags.
Ricky
Why not?
> Why is adding rides always the only viable option?
Bang for buck? More rides equals more happy? Rides are fun? Empty ride
sites are depressing? Enthusiasts are all about the rides? Decreased
number of rides equals decreased number of patrons?
Stop me if you think I'm getting warm.

Maybe. Maybe not. But empty sites are not exactly conducive to attracting
patrons. "Come to Geauga Lake! Now with even less to do!"

She would later achieve fame as Jennifer on WKRP in Cincinnati,

There's sex all over the place!"

Well, Cedar Fair, or whatever giant corporation now decides the fate
of Geauga Lake & the Big Dipper...

Oh please, no! I really enjoy the Dominator coaster!!!

Well--if you keep taking away--then why would people go there is there
are less rides. If they are going after the family--then they need to
add about 5 or six rides family type rides to help make up for all
they have taken out.
Moving Super Saturator here would show that they are trying to develop
Geauga Lake into something different that can stand separate from
Cedar Point. That would be a good fit with the way the water park has
been the main focus.
Continuously stripping rides without adding anything will just
convince the locals that the park is being destroyed and give them no
reason to return. Removing Headspin and clearing that abandoned edge
of the park to make things more compact would make sense, but removing
major rides from the center of the park does not. The walk between
the water side rides and the ride side rides is already a very long
stretch of nothing. Removing these rides will make that even worse.

I do know, however, that I was inspired by this to compose another lyric
for the rec.roller-coaster song book.
This time, apologies are owed to Bernie Taupin...I'm sure you can figure
it out. 8-)
When is it gonna come down?
Will it be moving to land?
Will it be moved to the Farm?
Is it going to Michigan?
You know they can't hold out forever
On the Internet it must be true
It's not gonna stay on the Geauga swampland
This coaster that's painted in yellow and blue
So goodbye yellow track ride
On the shores of Geauga Lake
In the wetlands beside Raging Wolf Bobs
It's taking its leave of the swamp
Going to some other Cedar Fair park
Leaving Geauga Lake's side
Oh the suits have decided the park survives
Without the yellow-tracked ride
What do you think we'll ride then?
You know we will all complain
It takes more than a couple of waterpark add-ons
To bring them in the gates again
Or maybe they'll get a replacement
There's plenty of rides to go 'round
Coasters, and flat-rides and wet stuff
Vying for patrons and lines on the grounds
So goodbye yellow track ride
On the shores of Geauga Lake
In the wetlands beside Raging Wolf Bobs
No longer will it Dominate
Going to some other Cedar Fair park
Leaving Geauga Lake's side
Oh the suits have decided the park survives
Without the yellow-tracked ride
