I'd say that the main reason they don't build longer rides is that they'd
be too expensive. They're already $30+ million! What park can even afford
THAT these days, never mind more?
And why bother adding to an existing ride, when for a bit more you can add
a whole new coaster?
Honestly, I don't think that adding to a ride makes it significantly more

I'm not sure which years I've visited, but I've never felt it kick ass at
all. Yeah, it was fun, and it occasionally threw you around a bit. But I
never liked it anywhere near as much as so many people seemed to.

There's truth to all of that. But a great ride is still a great ride.
While they can be edged down by other coasters taking their spots, I think
that the hype helped inflate some of those rides, perhaps above where they
probably deserved to be.

Not necessarily. The more serious issue is the length of the wheelbase.
Since the Timberliner cars have only single axles, that can be controlled
within some limits by the coupling. And in fact, because the Timberliner
cars are trailered, a 4-car Timberliner might actually be *shorter* than a
2-car LoCoSuMo train because there is no drawbar.

I don't know if that is quite fair to either LoCoSuMo or to the Gravity
Guys. It's accurate, but I am not entirely sure it is completely fair.
Certainly, the mechanical engineering involved in building the trains for
LoCoSuMo were the impetus for ultimately designing the Splinter/Timberliner
train, and the new design shows corrections for lessons learned in building

SFA to open VERY early this year

Just looked at the SFA website and they will open for the 2010 season
on March 27th! and be open for daily operation thru spring break til
april 5th then weekends til May 29th then dail thru the summer. It
also looks like they'll have later hours in july and august til 10pm
sat and sunday nights.
They were running well last year, this year should be a good one too.

Flights
I use sidestep also....however if you look at the list of sites they
check you will want to check some of the sites they do not cover like
Southwest, etc. I also crosscheck that site with QIXO.com
Bing.com is a new site tells whether the prices are "expected" to go
up or down.
Cars
I almost always use priceline and bid on a car. Smaller is not bad as
