Anyone have an explanation as to why the train was dispatched without
the lap bars lowered on the empty cars? (Though they fell into place
during the ride)

I miss having this coaster so close by!

Ride ops probably took bets on whether the bars would fall, or
on how many would fall? :-) Anything to help pass the time.

Of course, that was then, this is now...
