If not then take some kind of measurements to see where the fat limit

flings out of the train, I'm actually in shape these days getting
ready for a ski trip.

Yeah, it's funny how an admin who everyone wanted banned and kicked to
the curb now runs the biggest coaster site in the land, with videos
and pictures all over IAAPA. Where's ACE, or CFB? Ooops.
Well, I know CFB is at home, because Putz said he wasn't going.
ACE? Probably have a booth no one cares about, didn't see pictures
of it on day 1, no news from them. That's why those other sites
have died, no content. And now that I've kicked the ant hill and
people can take pot shots at me, this thread will take off.

We interviewed Tom Rebbie today. It will be on one of the videos we
release over the next day or two.

It was very interesting to see TPR photos and videos all over the
show! We saw our videos being played in at least 5 different booths
and TPR photos taken by myself or one of our photographers were in
about 10 different booths and several print publications.

We have had our photos and videos at IAAPA before but never like
this! As soon as you walked into the main part of the show *BAM*
there was TPR footage on two big plasma screens displaying Boardwalk
Bullet and Fireball. Turn the corner, and more TPR footage in the S&S
booth...keep going and there's more in the Gerstlauer booth, etc,
etc... It was awesome!

I'm just very happy that so many ride manufacturers and parks are
getting good use out of the photos and videos we contribute to them.
And we had so many people in the industry approach us about filming
more during this upcoming season.

ps. I had someone from one of the ride manufacturers tell me that my
'entertaining posts' towards the haters on RRC is the only thing that
keeps him reading this newsgroup! =) I'm glad to see my sense of

Sam, just stop. Honestly.

Robb did a nice job on the IAAPA update. Just because he drops a
little troll bait with it doesn't mean we need to have another 5000
page thread.

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)

"Experienced participants in online forums know that the most
effective way to discourage a troll is usually to ignore him or her,
because responding tends to encourage trolls to continue disruptive
posts — hence the often-seen warning: "Please do not feed the

Sam - you're jealous and I think it's AWESOME! It's even more awesome
that you are singling out ONE PHOTO to try and create some sort of
negative example around. It's quite pathetic and totally
entertaining! Rebbie was very happy to chat with us, gave us a great
on camera interview and we talked about our families, coasters, the
competition, and other stuff for 15 minutes after the cameras stopped
rolling.

And yes, I wore the same thing both days. Not sure if you know
anything about shooting video, but there is this little thing called
"continuity" and I brought with me two sets of the same clothes so
that I wouldn't all a sudden be changing clothes from one interview to
the next since in post we will be editing the two days together.

Sam, as much as you really hate to come to this realization, Theme
Park Review is well respected in the amusement industry and is
absolutely considered a great source of information and a resource for
photos and videos to many parks and ride manufacturers.

We had so many companies we had never spoke to before introduce
themselves to us and tell us about TPR updates they've enjoyed. We had
people come up to us and ask if they can be interviewed for TPR! It
was so flattering to hear people from creative services companies tell
us they use our website on a regular basis as a source to check out
parks around the world.

And no, this isn't "just about me" this is "about Theme Park Review"
and yeah, I'm really proud of what we've turned our company into. I
don't think there is anything wrong with me saying that. We've had
over 35,000 views in the past 48 hours to our IAAPA update and yes,
I'm damn proud of that fact! And that doesn't even include the people
who are reading it on FaceBook or YouTube.

Good for you. I know the ride manufacturers read this group, but
they'll never admit it. The closest thing we get to knowing a park
reads this is HW. Six Flags ride techs once came in here, but only
after I blasted their practices of opening rides late in the day.
The reason this group is still great, is because no one can close the
topic.

I do think people are jealous of Robb, because instead of posting
content about something and putting their butt on the line, all they
do is flame away. Even if someone is right about a subject, they
still get flamed with 1 liners. It's the CFB admins and a-lister
thing.

Ride manufacturers and the parks should shoot more POV footage and put
it on their web site. I've been saying that for years. Really
weird how they rely on Robb to do it. The next step for Robb will
be to team up with Discovery and make coaster shows. They've been
few and far between. The format of them is also whacked, always
making the rides seem scary. Seriously, do the shows about choppers
show a woman on the back of the bike screaming her head off? No.
So why does every coaster show have scientist guy and scared girl? I
don't get it. One thing to make a ride seem thrilling, another when
they scare away everyone from riding it in the first place. Coaster
shows are always goofy. It would be amazing if they did a serious
one showing the rides (POVs, NO CUT SHOTS), how to fly into the city,
hotels in the area, and tips on visiting the parks.

ACE will still be known as that coaster group because it's a word, and
an abbreviation. But there's so much more they could do. One day
they'll wake up and say, Gee, we should have been shooting videos and
making coasters shows. They are all about history right? Yeah.

Any way I can sum this up so we can avoid all the back and forth and
save everyone the time?

Rob is asshole, he banned people for no reason, he is a tax evader and
does not run a legitimate business, he breaks rules at theme parks,
he has a criminal background, and he neglects family from the past.

Everyone accusing him of this are jealous and/or stalkers, he thanks
them for all the attention, he gets lots of click though from RRC, and
RRC sucks. Oh and, some dude from IAAPA agrees with him.

Off topic guy bashes Universal Studios for getting banned, talks about
how much THEY suck, and how everyone should boycott them.

Everyone else calls off topic guy an alcoholic.

Great updates. Pancake machine video, you delivered.

Good summaries of Robb and Myself up above.

When Robb asked the guy how they theme a drunk monkey coaster, I
figured he was going to say they read RRC.

About the interview with Stan, that goes back to my comments about
rides being "Thrilling" versus "Family." The problem is they make a
"family" ride so everyone can ride it without being scared, but it's
lame. Yet the thrill rides are marketed as scare machines that you
better stay away from, so the little kids are scared to go on them and
the attendance figures are low. Why do this? Make a thrill ride
and market it as a "FUN" attraction. I've been saying that for
years. Then Stan won't have to dumb down his ride so everyone will
go. The suspension on the coasters is a good idea.

They're all about preserving history right? Right.

And why not come right out and ask PTC about the new Timberline trains
and if they're going to re-design theirs. See what happened in
that interview? Dude goes we get feedback from the "Acers." See
Robb, your site abbreviation is not a word, so the dude didn't say
"TPRers" He said "Acers." So you should of asked him about the
Timberline trains if he's going to dis you like that. Acers.
Your people need a new word to identify them. Or come up with a new
name for your site thats a one syllable word and abbreviation for
something bigger. That's the only reason why ACE stays around.
It's a word, abbreviation, and known by everyone. Really sad
considering Robb is the one making videos and posting reports of
IAAPA, and that a new group (NRM) has to come up with preserving
coasters. Flame away everyone, but it's the truth.

I know, but it's funny when you think about it. All of the TPFR
people going on these trips, getting video, and supporting the coaster
scene are known as ACERS. You gotta admit that's funny. All
that work Robb is doing goes under ACE to the people in the
industry. The video proves it. Ace doesn't do shit and they
still get credit.

So I guess the next step would be to figure out a new name for TPR,
even if that means Robb getting a new domain. It needs to be one
word people can say, and an abbreviation for something bigger.
Let's try.

I'm sure we can come up with the dirty stuff
FOC - Fun On Coasters (then your people would be FOCers)

But let's try to re-name TPR because they're not going to refer to
everyone as TPRers.
How can you do this? Easy, there are sites for 3 letters words in
scrabble.
http://www.yak.net/kablooey/scrabble/3letterwords.html
REC - Rollercoaster Enthusiast Club
Or you expand the group to doing other things besides coasters since
you're going on the Oasis cruise.
REC - Recreation Enthusiast Club
Only thing is the abbreviation would be RECers which sounds like
Wreckers.

Let's see all your flamers do it. A 3 letter word that sounds good,
and is an abbreviation for 3 words that mean something to the coaster
community, and when you add "ers" it doesn't sound weird.

With some of the media events Robb has allowed me to attend, I can
safely say that parks know the difference between an ACEr, and someone
from TPR.

At one media day, we witnsessed two ACEr's literally tell park
management that they screwed the community by not installing a dive
coaster. They literally had a tantrum in front of everyone. When you
send clowns like that, it doesn't do any of us any good.

You've been repeating the same argument for years now.

Do you think that the industry just doesn't understand your point?

They understand them AND DISAGREE WITH YOU.

It's really that simple.

No amount of bitching and complaining on internet forums is going to change
that.

We may all prefer thrill rides. But the money in the industry right now is
on water rides and family attractions.

And while we may al want multi-million dollar companies to cater to our
PERSONAL needs, that's not their job or their responsibility. Their first
and really ONLY responsibility is to their shareholders.

Grow up and accept that fact.

I've also been to media days where the park SPECIFICALLY asked that people
not wear shirts with any logos on them whatsoever. They don't want to make
it look like they pack the events with coaster fans, and would rather have
it look like regular people (not those who are raving about it because we
got free time at the park with no lines!) love the ride. And then there
were several people there with TPR shirts on.

"When you send clowns like that, it doesn't do any of us any good."

Or more to the point, when you're a group with thousands of people, it's
nearly impossible to ensure that none of them will do anything stupid that
makes us all look bad.

And it's absolutely ridiculous for enthusiasts to be trying to base
opinions of any large group on a handful of people way outside the norm.

All groups have their good and bad members. Some that are a credit to
enthusiasts, and others that make us look bad to the parks, the industry,
the media and/or the GP.

I think you're taking some of this discussion a bit too seriously.

Why would I have to ask Robb if he wants a new name for his web
site? The answer is a definite YES when people in the industry
call his fans ACERS. I've already explained why the name must
change. ACE got real lucky with an acronym that means something good
(To Score on a First Shot) or (An Expert, cough cough), the name is
easily remembered, and it's an abbreviation. TPR is only an
abbreviation, it's not a word, can't call the fans TPRers. Yeah,
the people in the industry may know the difference, but they still
call the fans ACERS. I didn't go though the 4 letter
abbreviations, but I'm sure they could come up with one that's a word
and means something good.

The problem with coaster fans is they go to these events and act
"goofy" looking for attention. I don't act goofy, even if I'm
buzzed. And lately, that hasn't been happening. I wait until I'm
back in the hotel room. I'm not trying to do the titanic dance
on the Raven, and I'm not doing gay antics like you see in all those
coaster photos from group events. I pull my lapbar down and don't
worry about having a foot of space.

I think it's stupid of the parks to want the coaster fans dressing in
plain shirts for the TV shoots. When they do shoots of copper fans,
they don't tell them to wear plain T-shirts. Once again, the
coasters shows are a dis-service to everyone because of the way
they're produced.

At the rate things are going, Robb will eventually be the president of
ACE, then he can really call his fans ACERS. If you can't beat
em', join em'.

That may be the closest one yet. If you ask my wife. LOL!

Because it's HIS site, not yours?

That's the thing you never seem to understand.

YOU have NO SAY in anything that happens in this industry.

ACE will do what it wants to in OUR club. (Or at least what it's executive
committee wants to.)

Robb will do what he wants to on HIS site.

The parks will do what they want to in THEIR parks.

You have no say in what happens in any club, web site or amusement park.
Period.

So, all you can do is go on and on on the internet a pretend that you make
a difference when no one gives a damn what you're saying, other than to
laugh at you.

And lately you haven't even been entertaining. At least work on that, will
you?
