I have a question about the Mind Eraser boomerang coaster at Geauga Lake. Every
website I've been to says it has Vekoma trains, but in every picture I've seen
it's trains are (or look like) Arrow trains. Were the trains changed or did
Vekoma copy Arrow?

Vekoma's trains look a lot like Arrow's trains from a distance. You start
to notice differences between Arrow trains and the Geauga Lake train once
you sit down, as the seats are different. Darien Lake's Boomerang also
has a Vekoma train which looks less like an Arrow train.

The earlier Boomerangs all have Arrow trains, as Vekoma apparently
licensed a lot of technology from Arrow and for a long time didn't build
their own trains. Later, Vekoma built bodies for Arrow running gear; now
I think Vekoma builds whole trains for their rides.

But the design still owes a lot to Arrow. I remember the first time I
rode an SLC (Adventure World's Mind Eraser) I noticed that while most of
the wheels were stamped "Vekoma" and had a metric dimension listed, at
least one wheel on that train was clearly marked "Arrow." And when I did
the conversion of the listed metric dimensions, I noticed they exactly
matched standard US sizes.......8-)

Arrow makes inverted trains? I'm confused because I thought Mind Eraser hung
below the track which means it wouldn't have Arrow trains unless it was a
suspended (like BBW) which it isn't. Dude, I don't think what I just said made
sense. That means I have to go to bed....good night.

I just read Dave Althoff's response and I'm sure his is right which means what
I just posted was, in Kramer's words, "Kooky Talk" so I'm sorry. I babbled on
like I knew what I was talking about and I ended up being way off. I shouldn't
be aloud to read or post to RRC after 10 pm.

Does Vekoma have two train designs? Because Mind Eraser trains look pointed at
the front while more recent boomerangs like Zoomerang or the Boomerangs C to C
have round fronts.

No, you just ran afoul of Premier Parks' first foray into the Six
Flags/Paramount naming thing. Mind Eraser is a suspended looping coaster
(SLC) as everyone knows. *Except* at Geauga Lake. At Geauga Lake, the Mind
Eraser is a standard Boomerang. So Geauga Lake's SLC is Serial Thriller
instead.

So we're talking here about Boomerang trains.

Let's just say that Vekoma has *several* different train designs. You are
correct about Boomerang Coast to Coaster and Mind Eraser being different
from each other, and I think none of them is the same as the trains on the
SFOG Ninja, which I believe is one of those half-Arrow, half-Vekoma
trains. For reference, I'm talking about the train on the Vekoma coaster
that used to be in New Jersey. Somewhere around here I have a photograph
of that train.......

Geauga's train looks more like that one than like the one at Darien Lake.

the original Vekoma trains looked almost EXACTLY like Arrows... the only
noticeable difference was in the OTS... however when i was at GL in '97 ( i
think it was '97) the trains where the new Vekoma trains that look sleek and
VERY different from Arrows... anyone got any more info here? i dont know if im
right or not.
