You got that right. This is a manufactured crisis and wall street wants
a bailout after making a ton of money repackaging and selling bad loans
defined as loans made to people that don't qualify.
The democraps that have controlled the banking and finance committees in
congress who encouraged poor lending practices for years now all belong
in jail. Instead of being watchdogs over the banking industry they
encouraged the lending spree.
Barney stinking Frank belongs in jail.
Make those financing people give up the profit they made for starters to
the people that now own the misconceived debt instruments.
The people and institutions that own that debt can write off the
depreciated values on the real estate they own together with the
recompense from the lenders should help the pain of making loan
payments or the lenders can accept a reduction in the loan amounts
based on formula taking current market value into account.
There are other variations of this solution that can fix the problem
without a taxpayer bailout but it will require that blame be placed upon
the crooks heads and recompense paid to the people that currently own
the debt.
It took years to make this mess and it will take years for it to get
cleaned up.

people get dumber, the parody is indistinguishable from "real" TV news.
People like Roy have no sense of humor, and a hyperactive sense of
irony. They embrace righteous indignation while surrendering skepticism
and objectivity. They are tools and they are automatons. If they
