'THE BIG BOO' CROWD HISSES KANYE WEST
Fri Sep 09 2005 10:30:28 ET

The chart topping hip hop rapper star who used a network hurricane
fundraiser to charge "George Bush doesn't care about black people" was
loudly and lustily booed during last night's NFL kickoff show.

The appearance of Kanye West, who was beamed into the Boston stadium
via remote from Los Angeles, received a strongly negative response from
the crowd.

"The boos were thunderous and lasted for much of his number," reports
the BOSTON GLOBE.

I wonder what Kayne is actually doing to help the large group of black
people from New Orleans. Seems to be pretty effective at whining. Bush
is sending billions of dollars south, including cash cards with $2,000
loaded onto each one. How much money did Kayne send.

Assuming Bush is not sending any of his personal fortune in those billions
of dollars and those debit cards, Kayne is sending exactly as much as every
other taxpayer in the U.S. of A.

George Bush is doing something positive and big in his position as
president. Kayne West in his position as "musician" has chosen to
whine about how Bush and the white folks are not taking care of the
poor black folks. But I guess that is what Hip Hop and Rap is mostly
about - whining and filthy language. And I'm sure he will sell more of
his "music" in the process.

Whoa there big fella. Take a little closer look at the federal income
tax code before saying the rich do not pay as much in proportion. Tax
rates rise with income levels, deductions and exemptions are phased out
as income level rises and many americans are hit hard by the AMT.

The middle class as a group pays more than the upper 10% of income
earners because there is a whole lot more of them, not because the tax
rates are lower.

Reality: According to data from the Internal Revenue Service, the top 1
percent of income earners pay nearly 35 percent of the income tax burden; the
top 10 percent pay 65 percent; and the top 25 percent pay nearly 83 percent.
The bottom 50 percent of income earners, on the other hand, pay barely 4
percent of income taxes. By definition, then, it is impossible to cut taxes
without
the so-called rich receiving a share of the benefits.

DX Ace,
.
The Truth About - Income Taxes and Who Pays
.
FACT - The simple reality is by using your Numbers and
after reviewing the Link that you supplied : That the
Income Tax could be Eliminated for the Bottom 50% of USA
Taxpayers and it would only cost the Federal Government
least than 5% of Total Income Tax Revenues.
.
QUESTION - So the Question becomes Why have not both the
Democrats and Republicans supported the Elimination of
the Income Tax for the Bottom 50% of USA Tax Payers ?
.
WHY - Because the US Income Tax has become a Negative
Income Tax Program with things like the Earn Income
Credit for the Working Poor and other Pay-Out type
"Tax Gifts" by the Federal Government.
.
CAUTION - The 'so called' Flat Income Tax is a Rip-Off of
the Working Poor, Average Wage Earner and the Middle Class
and lets the High Income Wage Earners (Rich) escape paying
a Fair Share of their Disposable Income to Support the Cost
of Running the Federal Government.
.
WARNING - The 'so called' National Sales Tax [Flat Tax]
is an even bigger Rip-Off of the Working Poor, Average Wage
Earner and the Middle Class and lets the High Income Wage
Earners (Rich) 'escape' paying an even Greater Share of
their Disposable Income to Support the Cost of Running
the Federal Government.

being used by the likes of their own kind i.e. Jesse Louis Burns, Big Al,

Middle class is buried within the bottom 50% and between the top 25%
and the bottom 50% statistics you quoted. Very confusing and
essentially worthless statistics for identifying the middle class in
terms of income and taxes paid. Still the point can be made that our
income tax system does tax income at progessively higher rates and that
the lowest income earners pay the lowest income taxes, whether measured
by rate or total paid by group.

"John S." wrote:

Point is that your statement "The middle class as a group pays more than the upper 10%
of income earners..." is incorrect, since the upper 10% pay 65% of the income taxes as
stated. And of course the upper 1% pays 35% so it's pretty clear that the 'middle
class' does not pay more.

But I suppose it hinges on where *you* place the boundaries on what is considered
'middle class' income. Generally, 'middle class' falls between $25,000 and $75,000 per
year. Upper income folks (above $75,000) make up about 26% of all households.

Therefore, the upper 10% are making a lot of money, AND paying 65% of the tax burden...
and the 'middle class' can't be paying more.

The stats are hardly confusing nor worthless, if one knows how to read them.
