"The real test for Obama and the Democrats won't come until the midterm
elections in 2010," Holland added. "By then it is likely that Americans will
think Obama is responsible for the condition of the economy at that time."

Well who the fuck elses responsibilty would it be then?

Meanwhile, you're still stuck without the PhD you once claimed to have.

Perhaps Boy Barry will wave his magic johnson and confer one upon you!

Bush should have done something about the Dem's in congress in his
second term. Now that the Dem's have full control it will be the end of
capitalism as we know it.

Same old story that the Repugs used in '33, when in fact Roosevelt
saved Capitalism from a possible Communist revolution that was taken
very seriously at the time.

I want it back. I would rather have us killing terrorists in Iraq than
have another 9/11 here. Money well spent.

Apparently instead of spending the money on defense you would rather it
be spent on congressional pork. Well I hope you are happy as the
obomination just signed the biggest pork bill in history. Of course he
ran for office on a pledge to end that sort of thing but it was just
another lie.

Please explain your logic.

How could "us killing terrorists in Iraq" having anything whatsoever to
do with "another 9/11 here"?

Terrorists operate throughout the entire world and do not need Iraq at
all if they wanted another 9/11. No connection whatsoever.

And didn't you read a day or two ago when someone posted here what
REPUBLICAN Ron Paul said? The people in Iraq are not even "terrorists"
per se, half of them are just defending their country against FOREIGN
OCCUPIERS (us), just like we would do if foreign soldiers were occupying
our country. The other half of the Iraqi "terrorists" are just
continuing the centuries long fight of Shiites vs. Sunnis vs. Kurds.
(It's almost too bad Saddam is dead -- for all his faults, he at least
kept tight control on the warring factions, something we have not been
able to accomplish yet).

"The stock market is sort of like a tracking poll in politics. It bobs
up and down day to day, and if you spend all your time worrying about
that, then you're probably going to get the long-term strategy wrong,"
Obama recently explained.

You know, Mr. President, not everything is like politics.

The market is a forward-looking entity, indeed, but it is driven by
the decentralized actions of millions of investors every second. It's
the opposite of politics. And this setup surely offends the
sensibilities of the statist planners occupying Washington. Unlike
politicians, markets don't lie. And this market has been in freefall
for a year.

So, what to do? Obama, who promised not to raise taxes during a
recession, now plans to raise nearly $1 trillion in new taxes directly
from the investor class. He plans to raise capital gains taxes (a
disincentive to investment), corporate taxes (for you, the consumer,
ultimately to pay) and on the "rich" (which the nonpartisan Tax
Foundation estimates will affect 1.3 million small-business owners).

This recession already has passed the 15-month threshold, the
historical average for downturns. Most presidents helped ease us out
of those tough spots by easing the burden on Americans. Obama has
engaged in the opposite. That's his gamble.

And most polls show the president's approval rating at about 60
percent, which is similar to other modern presidents' ratings at this
point in their presidencies. But now that Obama has used his political
capital to further ideology rather than economic growth, one thing is
clear: He owns this mess.

Well, as a matter of fact, you're right! There's good evidence Bush
-did- cause it. According to many sources, including the Republican,
strongly pro-Bush Wall Street Journal, they say this economic mess has
been going on for 14 to 15 months. My calendar drops that right into
Bush's lap.

I think most of us feel pretty confident that fewer innocents will be
tortured and killed in the battle against terrorism during the Obama
presidency than suffered under the Bush-Cheney fiasco. Or are you
suggesting, RHF, that the risk of killing innocents negates the
necessity of battling terrorism?

Or do you have any idea about what you're saying? Consistency is

Well, I don't think exact numbers exist. Some have returned to
terrorism. Many of the
Gitmo detainees turned out to be totally innocent, so I'll venture
that more turned out
innocent than returned to terrorism.

But American jurisprudence has long been based off the principle that
it's better to let
ten guilty people go free as opposed to incarcerating one innocent
individual.

How many were taxi drivers when they were sent to Gitmo, and are now
hardened terrorists because of their treatment at Camp X-ray.

I forgot how dumb liberals are. You are worried about $2.78 trillion
spent over 8 years protecting the country, which is constitutional, and
the size of the bailout 1 and 2 in 0.5 years time for unconstitutional
spending does not worry you? And hey, bailout 3 is coming right up.

You are one bright boy.

I hold Bush responsible for not reining in the Dem's on the banking and
finance committee creating the toxic debt crisis, which is the major
cause of the current economic problems. This started 4 years ago and
Barney when completely out of control the last 2 years.

Humph! That is really a non-answer.

An "offensive posture" against what?

The "terrorists" in Iraq aren't really terrorists. They are either

a) Fighting against foreign occupiers (us), just like we would do with
occupiers here in our country.

or

b) Participants in the local tribal civil war.

As I stated previously (and snipped by you), -real- terrorists wanting
to pull another 9/11 don't need to be in Iraq and indeed, they would be
rather stupid to stay in Iraq where we could kill them.

As I stated previously (and snipped by you), -real- terrorists will/can
operate anywhere in the whole world.

So again, a non-answer dodge on your part -- but thanks for playing.

The Chinese are shoring-up sources of Oil around
the World to Fuel their Economy after the Collapse
of the US Economy : So that they can rely on the
World as a Market without the USA being a major
Buyer in that market. Plus the Chinese will be
able to Import US Food at a discount.

Within 5 Years half of the Oil Tankers carrying
Oil around the World will be carrying Oil to China.
Some of the Oil will be from the USA cause we
won't be able to afford our own Oil and will need
the Chinese "Hard Currency" to Pay our Foreign

Within a year maybe three at most the US Dollar
will be worth 5 to 10 Cents and the Yuan will be

The Gold and Silver will show roughly an Equal

From 14000 to 11000 from May 2008 - Sept. 2008 and from 11000 to 8500
from Sept. 2008 to Oct. 2008 and it keeps relatively constant until Jan.
2009. Grand Kahuna - Bush

From about 8000 to 6500 from Jan. 2009 - March 2009 and that ignores
the recent mild upswing. Grand Kahuna - Obama

Greater percent loss under Bush that Obama.

I tend to overlook things from insignificant dxers. But since you are in
your "stupid is as stupid does routine", I'll fill the blanks as you
don't seem capable of it.

Grand Valley State U, Degree in Business, Major in Investments and
Securities, 1985 claimed to have the degree conferred. Degree claimed
but not proven.
