BUY AN FM RADIO!
The BA Recepter has a killer FM tuner.
-r- IMHO the eton E1 Radio is a very good FM+Stereo* Radio.
* Using External Stereo Speakers -better- a Set of 2.1 Self
Powered PC Speakers.
- I have read lots of positive reviews of the AM performance
- but I am wondering how well it performs on FM broadcast
- band in terms of sensitivity and selectivity.
-r- As good as many 'Component' AM/FM Receivers.
- Does anyone have such a receiver and is able to give me some tips.
-r- Read On.
> I am looking to have good sensitivity to pick up regular
- distant stations and to take advantage of tropospheric
- openings.
-r- Usually you need an Out-Side Multi-Element FM Antenna
to really do that well.
- Selectivity is also a must.
-r- See Page 76 of the Eton E1 Radio's Owners Manual.

- I live in Europe and FM stations can be 100 kHz apart here.
-r- See Page 76 of the Eton E1 Radio's Owners Manual.

- Is there any advantage of attaching an indoor FM antenna
- or does that offer no advantage over the whip?
-r- Start with a simple FM Folded Dipole Antenna - These can
be purchased for under $5 [US] and are made of 300 Ohm TV
Twin Lead.

- I am thinking of something like the CC Crane FM Reflect.
-r- The C. Crane Co. FM Reflect Antenna is a very good
In-Door FM Antenna and is relativily easy to position and use.
http://www.ccrane.com/antennas/fm-antennas/fm-reflect-antenna.aspx
TIP - Place it 45* Diagonal across a Window if you can.
- Where I am living I am not really in a position to
- erect an external antenna.
-r- Sorry to hear that. Consistant Distant (DX) FM Radio
reception usually requires an Out-Side Multi-Element FM
Antenna with a Rotor to point it at what you want to hear.
IMHO - The Eton E1 Radio has very good {great} FM Radio
Stereo reception.

FWIW - Right now I am Listening to KQED FM-Stereo in
San Francisco, CA on an Eton E1 Radio with the Whip
Antenna in Stereo which is about 120 Miles away.

The Eton E1 Radio has a 40" Whip Antenna plus a "DX" *
Switch {RF Pre-Amp} which gives a 10~15 dB Signal Boost.
* News Flash the "DX" Switch works for the FM Band too.
For FM Radio reception the Whip Antenna can be positioned
Vertical {Straight-Up} as an Omni-Directional FM Antenna.
-or- Layed the Whip Antenna Flat and Rotate the Radio to
Peak or Null an FM Radio Station.
