I've never wondered why that feature was important? I can probably enter a frequency in faster with the keypad than you can get to where you're going that way.
In the old days I can see where that might have been a nice feature as it made QSY'ing much easier. But with todays rigs I don't miss that at all.
What does your knob weigh?
