Shortly before Judge Norman K. Moon entered Charlottesville’s U.S.
District Court on Monday morning, defendant Kevin Alfred Strom was led
in shackles and clothed in the customary grey and black striped prison
garb. A year after he was arrested and charged with multiple counts of
possession of child pornography, he was set to plead guilty to one
count, which—as he was later instructed by Moon—carries a maximum
penalty of 10 years and a possible $250,000 fine, plus a life of
supervision.
Even though the guilty plea had already been agreed upon in advance,
Judge Moon still had to go through th necessary motions of asking the
51-year-old Strom if he understood what he was about to sign. Was he
coerced in any way? the judge wondered. Only by the threats on his
life he has received in prison, Strom replied, blaming them on press
reports that he is a Neo-Nazi and a white supremacist, “which I am
not,” he told the courtroom. A resident of Earlysville, Strom has
collaborated on racist, anti-Semitic “American Dissident Voices” radio
broadcasts, has posted nationalist messages on Cvillenews.com and was
involved in a 2005 incident in which copies of “The Aryan Alternative”
were distributed in Charlottesville. According to an intelligence
report from the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups,
Strom has been “a major American neo-Nazi leader for almost 20 years.”
Regardless, he maintained that the media’s portrayal of him was
leading to threats on his life from other prisoners. “They’re trying
to kill me because of the press coverage,” he said. “I deeply resent
the way I’ve been characterized. I’m no more a white supremacist than
the Dalai Lama is. I love my people just as he does.” With that, Strom
executed the guilty plea and a sentencing hearing was scheduled for
April 21. Judge Moon then called a recess and left the room, leaving
Strom to once again be handcuffed and led away.
As a few onlookers milled about in the gallery, two Strom supporters
stood, one who identified himself as John Justice, a family friend.
Aged with a full beard and long thinning hair, Justice indicated that
Strom pleaded guilty because of a fear of a jury conviction had his
case gone to trial. If it had proceeded, Strom would have faced
conviction on several counts of child pornography. Earlier charges of
witness tampering and trying to entice a 10-year-old to engage in
sexual activity were dismissed in October. Justice attributed Strom’s
plea not to any actual guilt but to a wife “who is trying to destroy
his life.”
A tattoed, sleeveless Elisha Strom—who testified against her husband
in earlier court proceedings—stood nearby but then headed for the door
and the elevator. Was she satisfied with the plea? “Not exactly,” she
said. What had she hoped for? “Death.”
Looks like he was the victim of a deranged and vindictive spouse whom
prosecutors (with political motivations of their own) were more than
eager to accomodate. Nonetheless, he served his time and has suffered
severe consequences. To continue kicking someone who is down says much
more about you than him.
Another thing for all you self righteous hypocrites to consider:
Viruses Frame PC Owners for Child Porn
Pranksters, Pedophiles Exploit Unsuspecting Computer Users, Leaving
Many Defenseless Against Criminal Charges

Very interesting, thank you for posting this information. I visited
your websites and found them to be very compelling. I particularly
enjoyed viewing the Morgan Weistling gallery of paintings. What a
stunning body of work he has blessed the world with!
All the best to you as you renew your life.
P.S. Is there a way to make your audio files play immediately? As I am
on a dial-up conncetion it would take six hours to open them and
listen.
He has no remorse, no compassion, nothing toward his victims.
You want to cuddle up to convicted sex offenders, that really shows your
character "Priest" now doesn't it?
The fact I can't stand sex offenders who pray upon children shows my
character in a positive light.
What happens in a court of law often has more to do with the theatre
of the trial than it does with the facts. It has a lot more to do with
the pressures of the prosecution than it does with the actual truth of
the indictment.
Especially in the case of a politically charged defendent.
An innocent man would have no remorse. Because he would not be
guilty. Remorse would not apply. In fact, he would likely be angry. VERY.
The way the law reads, the recipient of illegal materials is
sufficient evidence to conclude guilt, even if those materials were
received by an unsolicited method. As someone posted, there are viruses
that target PC owners with child porn for this reason. The infected are
guilty of possession even if they were not anywhere near the PC at the
time. And they are subject to the full weight and measure of prosecution
and punishment.
Such a law is a highly effective tool in an action against a target
with political implications, as Kevin most definitely is. The abuses of
this law are highly celebrated. And have been reported in the mainstream
media. Do a Google search for cases.
That Kevin is convicted is a fact. Whether he is a sex offender may
be something we will never know. A plea bargain is just that...it's a
bargain...a leverage used by prosecution to score assured jail time in a
case that is difficult to make. The weaker the case, the more
irresistable the plea bargain offer. It's a chess game. The presentation
is often made in a thug like manner...an offer one cannot refuse. Kevin,
unsure of his survivability in an open trial, would have a tough time
not taking a deal, especially when a prosecutor presents an alternative
outcome that would rob him permanently of his life.
So, the facts are clear. He's convicted. But whether or not he
committed the offense may never be known. Consider, that he's back in
his home with his children. A judge has little discretion in cases of
sex offenses where children are present. He would not be permitted
unsupervised within 100 feet of his children or any other children if he
had been proven guilty, or if there had been a preponderance of evidence
that he was guilty, of a sex offense involving children.
This lends credence to his claim that he was falsely accused.
That there was child porn involved on his computer, would also, if he
were demostrated guilty, necessitate that he be barred from internet
connectivity. Clearly, his presence here would suggest that, this too,
was a specious accusation.
The fact that you can't stand sex offenders who pray upon children
shows nothing more than that you can't stand sex offenders who pray upon
children.
Your character, however, is another matter.
Thanks for your kindness, Priest. I _am_ rebuilding my life. It was
a true blessing to be back with my family and loved ones again for
Christmas eve.
Make sure that javascript is enabled for http://3950.net in your
browser (in IE, I think you mark the site as 'trusted'). When
javascript is enabled, clicking on the arrow next to each audio link
will then invoke a small streaming player that should start almost
immediately.
Or you could install Quicktime as an audio plugin, which does the
same thing -- effectively making all mp3 files streaming, starting
to play them as soon as a few kb have been downloaded.
With all good wishes,
Kevin, WB4AIO.

Kevin said he downloaded the porn himself via a forum. It wasn't a virus.

There were no political implications. Remember, Strom was found INNOCENT
of most of the charges. He decided to plead guilty to the one remaining
charge.

He plead guilty.

He admitted to it in court and is a registered sex offender in the state
of Virginia.

Incorrect. If the case that hard to make, his attorney would have
brought the case to trial. The fact he was a white supremacist would not
have been allowed to be mentioned as it had no bearing on the case.

He admitted it in court.

That's also incorrect. His ex-wife, Kirsten, before Elisha has full
custody of his biological children and lives several states away. She
has totally disvowed Strom in every complete way. The book is called
"bondage of self". Strom hadn't had contact with his own children in
years. But Kirsten sure had a lot to say about Kevin's obsession with
underaged girls in that book. I guess she's lying also right?

Incorrect. Although it is possible that him posting could be a violation
of the conditions of his probation.

Clearly your character is to defend a convicted pedophile and registered
sex offender in the state of Virginia.
Michael:
You are the one who is incorrect.
I am at home with my children now, this very moment. Despite the
best efforts of the liars, I am with them. My older son and daughter
are on the honor roll at school here. My younger, autistic son is
doing well in his special school.
And I am completely innocent of all of the government's foul
accusations. See my Address to the Court:

Happy Christmas and peace to you,
I was referring to his involvement in incendiary movements. Those put
a political load on his activities, and his legal troubles. He was
taking it from a number of sides long before this issue.
Remember, Strom was found INNOCENT

Which is how plea bargains work.

Again, how plea bargains work. He plead guilty. The facts were not
tried.

Naive. The fact that he took a white supremacy position publicly
provides the political overlay on all of his activities. It would have a
powerful impact on any legal jeopardy.
A prosecutor needing to close the case, but having a weak case to
begin with, as evidenced by the number of charges that did not stick,
would plead out the case to insure a finding. The chess game is in how
the plea bargain would be presented to the defendent. The pressure
applied would be proportional to the questionable strength of the case.

Drifter...
Kevin, as one who post, mostly on topic, on my account, you are most
welcome here. just ignore the trolls, the political wacko's, and the
bible beaters, as i do. i won't throw stones. this is a radio group.
best of the Holiday to you.
Drifter...
But don't worry, there are enough paranoids out there who will believe
your lies that the "government" set you up. Or defend your right not to
work and draw disability/welfare.
