Got an opening to Peru this morning:
4775 kHz @ 0200z Spanish R. Tarma Peru 1 Kw TX.
also:
4905 kHz @ 0218z R. Anhangeura, Brazil, 1 Kw

Brazil comes in regularly, but Peruvians are as scarce as hens teeth

This 7700 sure pulls them in when conditions are running.

I didn't see anything on your website regarding the MW mods to your IC-7700.
Filters? Bandwidth?
Is the digital pre-selector completely automatic? Do you use an external
pre-selector?

The 7700 doesn't need any mods - it is fully sensitised on LW & MW
That Peruvian sounded best in AM with a 6 kHz DSP filter and 6 kHz
roofing filter.
However I usually DX in ECSS/SSB mode with a 3 kHz filter and 3 kHz
roofing filter.
The filters are razor sharp and really good. See:
http://www.dxing.info/community/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2484

The much vaunted digital preselector doesn't work for me - it is used
by people who are close to powerful transmitters close by - my nearest
TX is 800 miles away. It is completely automatic with a fine tuning if
needed.

No I don't use a preselector with my DX1 antenna as it is not
necessary with a high performance radio like the 7700. For DX1 review
see:

Have fun and good DX
