I watched the video but couldn't find any humor in it. Seems like this
Rockwell guy is all worked up over some new piece of gear (motor?) they
developed. I couldn't understand many of the terms the fellow used,
but I am no expert at motion control and automation.
It sounds like any trade-show pitch, but is nothing but double talk.
LOL! I think it might have been done for some Rockwell internal
confab....
I've actually seen this before and I just viewed it again. And I will
admit it's one of the funniest blurbs that I've ever seen on the web.
Hehehehehe. I've actually made a good living off of motion control
for almost 30 years.
Thanks for the link!
It's a joke. Just made up high tech psycho babble describing something that
doesn't exist or make any sence. It's the kind of thing techies and
engineers laugh at. I thought it was funny.

The "Turbo Encabulator" was a joke paper done by some guys at
Bell Labs prior to 1960. The I.R.E. (one predecessor of the IEEE)
had some tape-and-slide-show presentations that local chapters could
order for viewing. Most of these were serious, but the Turbo
Encabulator was one of them. Actually I recall this one as being
tape without any slides.

It was or was not serious in the 1950's.

I would think the concept of magneto reluctance and capacitive ... er,
whatever, is something we could all wrap our brains around.
