Currently on THE BOOK NOOK, your hostess, Lisa McVicar, is
reading "When Comes the Spring" by Jeanette Oke.

Boxing Day for July continues on HAM RADIO TODAY as we present
the second in a two part series on where to place that brand new
circuit.  Also, a final report about amateur radio on board the
recently completed space shuttle mission.  (Hold on to your hats
- there's another one scheduled very soon!)  In addition, we
present other news from the fascinating worlds of electronics in
general and ham radio in specific.  It's all on this edition of
HAM RADIO TODAY.

On STUDIO NINE's EarthWatch, we will learn of the Grebes in
Guatemala.  And here in Ecuador, we travel to an FM repeater
site above the city of Ambato.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the question treated on INSIGHT FOR
LIVING is: What About My Neighbors's Neighbor?  Chuck Swindoll
is our teacher and counselor.

Thursday, July 13:

Today is microwave cooking day on WHAT'S COOKING!, with Karen
Mace.  There are lots of helpful hints and tips to help you make
the most of your microwave.  Also Alan Renaud, one of HCJB's

STUDIO NINE features part 5 of our 31-part series, "Mystery of
Mysteries".  Today's topic is "The Devolution of Man".

This week on INSPIRATIONAL CLASSICS, Judy Gillen presents the
oratorio, "The Jerusalem Passion".  Recorded in Brisbane,
Australia, this moving story of Christ's passion is beautifully
sung and played by the Vision One Chorus and Orchestra.

Friday, July 14:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A battle between George Handel and Jimi Hendrix - vinegar that's
more expensive than champagne - Dracula makes a scene in
Transylvania - a clinic exclusively for hypochondriacs - and,
we'll be looking at what a South American radio station is doing
in Europe.  It's all in today's ON-LINE with Rich Cline.  Send
your comments about the programme to: onl...@hcjbuk.gn.apc.org
On INSIGHT FOR LIVING, Dr. Chuck Swindoll begins a new series:
"Koinonia: A Recipe for Authentic Fellowship".  The topic for
today is 'A Grocery List for Koinonia'.
Jorge Zambrano is your host for MUSICA DEL ECUADOR as today's
program features music presented by Angel Zambrano, "Platero"
and the Hermanos Castro.
It's "Travel Latin America" today on STUDIO NINE as Curt Cole
takes us to a fortress in Dominica, and here in Ecuador, we
learn of the interesting sport, Ecua-Volley.
#radio --- place to meet shortwave listeners in Internet Relay Chat
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Internet Relay Chat is a multi user chat system. Discussion is
devided to channels and usually there are thousands of channels
with different topics.
DXers and shortwave listeners haven't had any orginized channel for
discussions earlier. But I think (knowing amount of readers of
rec.radio.shortwave) we could get quite an active group to irc.
So, I suggest we could start to have discussion on channel #radio.
I have made couple of 'bots' (=irc-robot) to keep the channel alive
during times I can't be personally there.
Welcome to #radio! The channel for shortwave listeners and DXers
in irc.
   Black Book is a free, public domain publication that strives to be the
 most complete, accurate and up-to-date address book availible for contacting
 Pirate and Clandestine radio stations. While this list can NEVER be 100%
 accurate at all times, I do try very hard to keep it that way and solicit
 your help. Part of the problem in maintaining Black Book are the rapid
 changes that are frequent with these types of stations. Black Book gets
 updated, typically, every other day. If you have a list that is much older
 than a month or so, it's time to get a new copy! With this update, Black
 Book is 1 year old. I hope that this information will enhanced your enjoyment
 of this fascinating hobby!
