*** Question in advance of Expediton ***

Dear friends, We are preparing our Maldives Isl. DXpedition 2010
(March 24th - 31th see: www.mmmonvhf.de/latest.php?id=2896 ).
We need to make the decision on what antenna we will use on 144.
We definitely want to use one single cross-yagi. We would like to
use the experience of other DXpeditions and home-stations: Does
anyone have experience with the 2MXP28 and/or the 32JXX2? Is there
any other antenna (with such performance, size and weight) you
would recommend? Please send us your comments and suggestions!
Many thanks! vy 73 Dan, HB9CRQ/KT6Q head of HB9Q www.hb9q.ch

*** OH 50 & 70 MHz News ***

All Finnish coastal areas are now free for 50 MHz operations
(there were forbidden areas due to former Swedish CH2-TV activity)
The big news is that as of today 70 MHz is released as legal for
transmitting. The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority
(FICORA) [http://www.ficora.fi/en/index.html] will release the
new regulatory document 6H/2009M on the Finnish/Swedish web
pages tomorrow (11-05) ---- 73, "Zaba" OH1ZAA/OHoMZA ---

5N0EME is QRT. Even so I will stay until end of November in
Nigeria, I wont do EME anymore. I will now have to pack everything
in boxes and make them ready for shipping back to Switzerland.
Last weekend I could log quite some new station but would have
wished to find better condx. However, I am happy with the result.
I am really sorry for some guys that didnt make it in the log.
DD0VF for example called me really often but either he didnt copy
me or I didnt copy him or the PA died. A last log and overview
over all use: www.mmmonvhf.de/upload-news/DL8EBW/LOGS/5N0EME.xls
HB9Q, PA3CSG and UA3PTW made a QSO with me on all three bands,
really good job guys. I updated the log and also the QSL status.
There are quite some QSLs on the way. I gave them yesterday to a
colleague who will put them in Germany in the mail. Rest of the QSL
cards can be answered when I am back in Switzerland beginning of
December. vy 73 de Bodo, 5N0EME - www.mmmonvhf.de/review.php

and 6cm has been mounted all in a row now, thanks to Eene PA3CEG
Jan PA3FXB Software for tracking has been modified to run off
track for each frequency band. We will install Rf decks on friday
and hope to be QRV from moonrise. Check for us on HB9Q during this
event. Basically we will follow the tradiotion of 13cm the first
pass and 9cm and 6cm for the second pass. However we can change
easily and will do on request Good luck and hpe to see you off
the moon! Jan Pa0PLY - SOURCE: Jan PA0PLY via MoonNet

*** OK / JN79 ***

OK1RD is now QRV with his new 6m array:
http://www.ok1rd.com/index.php?article=33&page=6m-eme
Because of his full elevation capability, Jarda should be able to
work many 6m single yagi stations who have a single yagi on the
horizon-only with no elevation. Anybody out there still need OK
on 6m? ;-) GL SOURCE: tnx to Lance, W7GJ direct to MMMonVHF

C9 EME Trip in early December 2009
LATEST NEWS from Derek, ZS5Y, dated 2009-11-02: There will be no
23cm or 70cm operation from C9 in December I don't have yagis
nor power for theses bands. With only about 50w on both, it will
make QSO's take very long. There will be more opperations from
there in the future, maybe then I can make a plan for high gain
yagis and more power. 73s SOURCE: Derek, ZS5Y, via MoonNet
