after thinking about it I thought
1 my fertalizer  grade pot. nit.absorbed  to much moisture
2 when I weighed up a 3 # batch the moisture lowered the amount of
dry
pot nit and raised the fuel
3 excatly what I wanted for bp rockets???
a toned down bp mix
I think I might bang out a couple bp rockets (experiments)
with this stuff and see what happens (from a hundred feet away) :)

just waiting for my ping pong balls to disolve here
for prime mix

Max,

I'm sure it will work just fine for some BP rockets. Just make sure
you use a good strong casing, such as the cardboard tubes that Phil
Sells (http://www.ihaveadotcom.com/cart/index.php?
main_page=index&cPath=72_118&zenid=de433e655046b01112312796a9c277d1)

Although they are spiral (usually parallel or 'convolute' tubes are
used) the tubes Phil sells really hold up to some serious pressure.
Even work fine for strong whistles, so BP will be no problem, assuming
your nozzle diameter isn't too small.

Bob

yes I think the tubes will be fine
the ones I got with my tooling at the convention are very heavy duty
and so are the 1/4 inch ones I got from cannon fuse
so I guess I need to mash up the big chunks
mill it to a fine powder.  mill in 3% mineral oil by weight
to keep the dust down
and bang out a couple tests
does that sound right?

thanking everyone for there help

The common (high-quality ACE) spiral-wrapped tube with 1/16" walls is
good to about 140psi, but incapable of sustaining it for more than a few
tenths of a second.  Thicker walls seem to increase the pressure
resistance about linearly, with 1/4" walls sustaining about 500psi.

The _ordinary_ run-of-the-mill NEPT 1/4" wall convolute tube wrapped with
virgin Kraft is good to 1470psi for more or less an indefinite time (up
to 8 seconds, or so).

I contacted NEPT for an estimate of the pressure resistance of their
standard 1lb rocket tubes (3/4" i.d. x 8" long), and have done deliberate
(and accidental) burns on a test stand that recorded pressures as high as
1000psi without a tube failure.
