Motivated by James Allen's posting from early November, here's an
attempt to construct my own such puzzler. This message, in its
entirety, satisfies my special constraint.

I hardly think it necessary to state my request of you: find the rule
and post a simple reply that obeys it.

Enjoy,
Mark

Hello Mark! The puzzle, while good, may be perhaps just a little too easy,
but nevertheless gives much enjoyment.

Best,

Tim

Alas, I feared the task might be too easy for this group of veteran
puzzlers. The next posting will, I swear, be a killer.

Regards,
Mark

I discovered the rule quite easily, and this reply is written with the
rule taken into consideration.

Some words have odd weight,
and even alternate.

That's just silly. Only syllables have weights.

I can't believe I'd spent such a long while trying the puzzle. I have
trouble decoding these things without help.

Perhaps he meant that words have tallies? They might do, you know.
