Typical example of what I just love about the internet. Three or four people
that can't look at anything without letting their animal instincts run
supreme. Common sense doesn't exist, and courtesy is not allowed. I have
looked at many sites, and keep my big mouth shut, I just try to figure out
what the photog was trying to say. Many times they have nothing to say, or
it is as shallow as a product shot for a catalog. Looking at the site, I
didn't see anything that really turned me on, nor turned me off. Pretty
neutral. A far better approach would be to state what you find so terribly
objectionable, as well as what was done right to your taste. Remembering
that taste is a subjective thing, what is art to you may be trash to someone
else. Not just this newsgroup, but every damned one of them are usually
rendered totally useless by a few crass idiots with nothing to say and bucket
sized mouths to shout it with.

Still trying to shoot people instead of insects, but still find the insects
more interesting. Still ONLY getting useable advice from a retired
photographer with 55 years experience, and finding that advice more
knowledgeable than any I have seen here in this newsgroup. Instead of
rec.photo.technique.people, why don't we just call it what it is?
rec.photo.technique.flames.idiots..

Pardon the short temper, but I spent most of the afternoon in the field with
a most beautiful model, $100 for her clothing and fees, and have only one
frame that I consider useable. Then spent three hours on this stinking
dos-box trying to retouch the photo into the vision that I had when we went
out and still have about ten hours to go before the final pic will be what I
had in mind. The last thing on earth that I need is to look for something
that will help me, and find nothing but tanks with flame throwers.

If you are sufficiently knowledgeable in the Gothic Art Period, no
explanations should be required!

However, if you insist...

The art of the Middle Ages - notably the twelfth and thirteenth
centuries - was Pop Art: art for the masses. Architecture in
particular was characterized by openness, light and airy spaces,
compared to what had gone before. Some people interpret Gothic as
dark, gloom and evil things, which is pretty cool too. So, Gothic has
a duality of meaning. In some of my work, I like to add a nasty dark
bite. Sure, there's not a lot of this 'evil' side of me to show in my
website at present, but it will be updated shortly.

Besides, interpreting Gothic as a bunch of pale, self-possessed
teenagers running around in capes and winkle-pickers is a little
narrow-minded... don't you think?

Ah, that explains why you are still here.

Rabue, Quingsnake, and Scottmike ?

> Common sense doesn't exist, and courtesy is not allowed.

We see that from your posting, yes.

Talking about it, even joking about it might help.
You see it in Washington these days. Not telling
everything causes unnecessary ulcers and indigestions.
Not that I'm interested in blowjobs from young girls
performed on elderly men or special investigators
ruining the function of a government for something
as silly as a blowjob.

> Many times they have nothing to say, or it is

Why don't you say so, then ? Might help the
shooter in question. People post their sites
because they want feedback. Keeping shut is disrespect.

I find it objectionable, that the links didn't
work yesterday.

Sure. But learning about other peoples associations
and opinions also helps, don't you think ?

> Not just this newsgroup, but every damned

And what is your point ? Aside of that you
like the postings ?

Then why don't you go back to insects, then ?

55 years on the job ? Yeah, he's old, no wonder
the insects already explore him. And no wonder
he can answer with so much knowledge.

> Instead of rec.photo.technique.people, why

Because you don't post that often. There are
nice guys around as well.

Lack of planning, bad weather, or what ? And
why don't you just post a detailed question
rather than wanking off onto the table ?

> The last thing on earth that I need is to

You might as well ask, if you are looking for
anything. Or post the faulty shot to a
website and receive helpful comments or enjoy
the jokes.

Explain yourself, damnit.

How come, I receive Error 404, file not
found on all but one of links ?

That's what wrong with the Internet these days, no sense of humor. The net was a
lot funnier back in the 60's.

This site was good, whether it is what each of us perceivs Gothis as.
The pic of the girl with the barb wire (#3) very visually cool. #7 was a
nice play with strong black & white. The male pictures though didn't
seem so intriguing. As if the men were uncomfortable in their poses.

I don't about you Michael, but the above URL worked fine for me. May be it
is because you're coming to from that wonderful IPS provider AOL.

Nope. AOL is where I have my website. I surf
from another account and I can change to
two more for verifying.

Dear Michael
Coming from calssic studies and philosophy I have had enough latin.
This language was used by the priest of the catholic church as "weapon"
for "intimidation" against the poor and ignorants commune people to keep
them even more ignorant
In the old Italian village the only "respectable" persons were the
doctor ; the Lawayer ; the Priest .. all of them used latin intimidating
, as said the people.
When a language is utilized for comunication then even my broken english
can pass ( although I try to improve it) . When a language is used as
show Knowledge (with the capital K) then this is only ...fanatism
(useless).
W (Viva) the freedom from the church's priests .

This the people used to write on the walls
For reference see also Don Abbondio character in the "Promessi Sposi" by
Alessandro Manzoni

Sure you'' understand
