Would you mind telling me where and how to have prints made of my
acrilic paintings? I never did that and I live in a very rural area
where nothing can be done.I would apreciate any help.Jeni

No matter what, you'll have to send off the original to a lab of some sort.
There's many different options, depending on how many prints you want to
make and what quality. Litho, Giclee, and Lightjet are just some of the
types of printing techniques available.

First, try asking in rec.arts.fine - I'm sure some people there have had
prints made of paintings.

Maybe also ask in comp.publish.prepress, many people there work in service
bureaus and could advise on various methods to take.

Ideally, get somebody with a medium format copy camera, and get the artwork
shot onto transparency film. Alternately, get the work shot on slow speed
35mm slides. If it's for print or publication, a small Kodak color card
placed next to the art work and shot onto film is useful so that printers
can match the color precisely. Plant the camera on a tripod and fire the
shutter with a release cable. Use a long lens so the perspective of the
paintings isn't thrown out of whack. Focus precisely, open the aperture up a
bit so that all the corners are in focus. Use natural or artificial flood
light, aim it at 45 degrees to the artwork, look through the viewfinder to
make sure there's no flare on the artwork surface, and bracket the
exposures.

1. Get them exhibited.
2. Get them published.
