I am fairly comfortable with 35mm format for other things but I want to move
to larger negatives for landscapes. I suppose what I would really like is
some sort of updated Kodak pocket (I have one of these) with a good lens for
landscapes - I am not looking to do portraits with this camera so focussing
adjustments are not really an issue, but good iris adjustment, a range of
shutter speeds and lens clarity are essential. I am looking for
recommendations for good used cameras with a wide rectangle format - almost
panoramic, and suggestions on focal length.
Any suggestions or pointers on where to find more information appreciated.

are any update folders in production today. The old fuji 645 folder is the only
one is recent history that I can think of. The Makina Paubel 6x7 was a sort
of a folder (pull out lense). But sadly I do not think that they are currently
in
production. Two interesting web sites about MF cameras and deciding on
which ones, are:
http://www.smu.edu/~rmonagha/mf/cameras.html
and
http://www.photo.net/photo/medium-format/choosing
Hope that helps...

Linhof Technorama (6 x 12 cm) with 65 mm Super Angulon (91 degrees angle of
view), or Fuji Panorama G617 (6 x 17 cm) with Fujinon 105 mm lens (75
degrees angle of view).
Or one of the Fuji 6x9 cameras (same aspect ratio as 35 mm format), like the
Fuji GSW690 with 65 mm lens (equivalent to 28 mm on 35 mm format).
One option is a 2x3 Graphic camera. Lot's of lens choices, backs for roll or
sheet film, can do closeup work and fairly cheap. Can also be used handheld.
See graflex.org for information.
