Tried to do the first oil change on my new Lincoln MKX AWD today and boy was I in for a big surprise! Bought a Fram PH3600 as the book suggests. Sure enough, I tried to screw the new filter on and FUCK!! The FUCKEN' thing doesn't fit. It seems the original filter has Mexican threads and the Fram isn't compatible. Tried two auto parts stores and no go! An oil... more »

glossy or matte for scanning?
I'm going to take my film for developing and printing. They are going to ask me if I want glossy or matte finish. I will scan some prints on a flatbed scanner (IBM colour scanner, 600dpi) for transfer to the Internet. Would one or the other finish be better for scanning? Thanks.

Newbie question re. old lenses on a modern DSLR
Hello folks... If I get an adapter to allow me to use my old Nikon F-mount tele lenses on my Canon EOS 450D, will I be able to use the camera to get an exposure reading? (Without putting the Canon lens back, I mean). I appreciate that I will have to set everything manually. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!... more »

Q. for the geeks
We've all seen TV newscasts that show a reporter live in Iraq being interviewed by the CNN anchor back home in the ATL. There is always a few seconds delay since it takes time for the satellite signal to make it's way around the world. OK, so I turn on my Nintendo Wii and I'm playing Mario Kart online... more »
