I'm relatively new to photography and would love to get valuable feedback.
Oh yeah, this is for Annika...
Taken with the almost fabulous Elan 7E. :)
Thanks in advance!

At least you used the incredible 28-135 f/3.5/5.6 IS USM.
Btw, your wife is hot. But you knew that already....

>Thanks dude...I'll trade her to you for an EOS 1D.
If I had a EOS-1D, I could get 10 of her.
EOS-1D = Babe Magnet !!!

I thought you wanted feedback? Instead, you are trying to sell your wife to
Annika for some crappy digital equipment that will loose value by the
minute? Shame on you! ;-)) And Annika, are you a Mormon or Muslim to be
capable and willing to have and support two wifes??
Anyway, the pictures are very nice and that's all I can say for I am not a
composition or exposition expert by now. (But, . . . maybe the baby would
be placed better in the "goldene Schnitt", meaning that . . .
When you take the picture and divide it into 1/8 section, it is most
appealing to the human eye when you put your subject into the position
marked by the 3/8 section in both x- axis and y-axis. (That's what I
learned back in school when we were shooting black and white in 11th grade.
I am sorry, I have problems with my English when it gets this technical.
Hope you get the point.) The baby is -in my view- actually to close to the
border. Shouldn't be in the center either but . . . in the "goldene
Schnitt".)
I like your pictures better than Annika's, btw.

On the other hand, I would have cropped the baby photo much tighter. I don't
see any reason to include so much couch. I'm thinking at least a square and
perhaps a vertical.
Oh jeez, now I'm sorry I responded to this post. I wish I could take back my
critique.
I actually have another shot of the mirror picture where I pulled back a bit
and you can see much more of the windshield and can tell what it is much
better. When I posted that one I guess I was in an abstract mood. :)
I think her thought was "Put that damn camera away while we are in the car
before I wrap it around your head." :)

I'll give ya the peach jacket, a Kodak DC290 and one 5-iron (slightly soiled)
for her. Final offer.
Knowing how Annika1980's wife looks, it's understandable
that he's trading her in for hardware. Of course, he'd
want that younger and skinnier woman. I don't condone it;
but nevertheless understand it. As far as camera being
a babe magnet, is that how it is in Tennesee ?
Joe: the pictures are cute. Glad to see you trying
out new things.
my 2 cents
Annie
To be honest, this portrait does very little for me - the sitter's
head seems to be disembodied in a sort of mist and it is not clear
that one is looking at a reflection in a mirror.
The most 'effective mirror portraits'that I have seen show the sitter
looking at their reflection in the mirror - in profile for example
with a full face reflection:probably tricky to do and I have never
tried it - but perhaps I will now - or when I can swap my wife for a
younger model!
Another problem for me is that the colours look washed out and the
picture is lacking in contrast.
The baby is cute - but as another poster has indicated - looks lost on
that settee - zooming in close would be more effective. Here too there
is a lack of contrast, which I have found is typical of photo's taken
with the extremely diffused light resulting from flash bounced on the
ceiling.
What sort of processing lab did you use by the way?
I hope that all this doesn't sound too destructive...!
