Does anyone have suggestions on how to make this work? When I attach the camera to the computer, the camera appears to know that the computer is there; the LCD turns off and the power light flashes. The computer does not appear to know that the camera is there; there's no "new hardware" message and the camera doesn't appear... more »

(End User) - I'd say I know the ins-and-outs of the Nikon D3 pretty well -- after all, I've taken more than 200,000 photos with one. And I knew that Nikon had a big problem: The camera is so darned good, how do you make it better, especially with an incremental upgrade? The D3 isn't perfection -- the AF sensors are too closely grouped, the default white balance is a little too cool, the AF sensors are too closely grouped -- but, as you can see from my struggling, it's generally close enough. If you can't do most jobs really well with a D3, it's probably your fault, not the camera's. So how do you convince people to buy something more expensive?...... more »

We hope to open an accessible studio firstly in Bristol but eventually expand having groups in other cities and eventully opening more accessible studios. Good vs. Bad UV Haze filters?

I came across this site: [link] The author used a UV/Visible spectrophotometer to compare different UV/Haze filters. It shows four filters doing no serious attenuation down to 350nm (which was as far as their instrument would go). The "B+W" UV filter looks the best to me, with a flat transmission curve... more »

hi there first of all sorry if it is OT but in all of those newsgroups i found this one which seems to be just fine for my post :) anyway... i've got a digital camera HP M417 but without an appropriate docking station... since the camera is quite old i cant find any proper docking station in my country and thus only thing i can think... more »
