Lytro...the evaluation
I am sure I have mentioned here that a few months back I purchased a Lytro. Knowing full well that being the first in line with new technology is not always a prudent choice...I was so curious that I bit. The price was low enough that it was not much of a gamble. (It turned out to be a hell of a better deal than the Facbook stock I purchased)... more »

EXIF data incorrect
When I shoot with a strobe the EXIF data indicates flash not used. I always have my strobe set for high speed sync. Has anyone else had this issue? I shoot with a Nikon D300 with an SB800 strobe. -- Peter

It seems to me that what's really interesting about the Shroud of Turin is not the possibility that it's a miraculous image of you know who, but rather the question of how the 14-15th century forgers created the image. We'll probably never know for sure, but I'm impressed by the theory that it's the world's oldest surviving photographic negative, a... more »

Thought experiment - oddball iris
Most camera lenses are stopped down by partially closing the iris diaphragm. That reduces the light coming through, and increases the depth of field. But what if instead you left the iris wide open, but stuck an opaque black disk on the center of the lens front element? It seems that should also cut down on the light coming through, but... more »

Hi everyone, I am a doctoral student at Auburn University and am offering participation in an online research study related to career and occupational issues.
