Well.....the quality of the D100 is fine to me. I get spectatular 20x30
inch enlargements from mine, shooting tif or raw. Of course you do have
to work on the files a little, but not much. When you print chemical
prints from color negatives this big, you have to work on the images in
the darkroom also, dodging and burning and of course spotting, so it is
no harder to get good images from the D100, in fact it is much easier.
The color I get from the d100 files printed on my Epson 9600 wide format
printer are the best large prints I have ever made in my 30 year career.
It just goes to show you, to get good photos, you need to be a good
photographer...whether digital or film.

Can't figure out if you're one of the pro-canon/anti-nikon trolls on this group
or if this is a serious question. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt this
time.
The Canon 10D is probably the best value and for most people (ie, don't have a
lens selection of Nikon already) quite possibly the best choice for 6mp D-SLR.
The Nikon D100 is quite capable of delivering accurate color and low noise... I
own one and have no problems with it in those areas, and I'm a picky bastard
who slowly and carefully decided to edge into digital and now can not look back
at all.
Both cameras will SIGNIFICANTLY outperform an Olympus E20, but (shock), you may
actually have to see some images from the cameras in real life as opposed to
judging them off a website somewhere, which is rather invalid way of making the
decision, honestly.
So, given you're obviously anti-nikon, go get the Canon 10D, it's a hell of a
machine and should serve you well!

Where do you get your 20x30s printed?
Thanks...

Well said Gene. Like the old story goes...
"A famous photographer went to a fancy society dinner to honor him for his
great works. While looking at one of his exhibits, the Master Chef
commented "That's a superb photograph, I bet you must have a really good
camera". To which the photographer responded "That was a superb glazed duck
almandine, I bet you must have a really good baking pan" ...

I print all my prints myself. I have an Epson Stylus 9600 Ultrachrome
printer that takes a 44 inch wide roll of paper.

If you really want to compare sample images from the net do use
well-known and respected review sites;
also take in mind the Fuji Finepix Pro S2 is built upon the
very same model as the Nikon D100 so I suggest to include it
into your thoughts.

I know it is a long way to dig through the material, but it
definitely is worth it.
But remember that besides picture quality there is many
very subjective factors with a camera - e.g. I for
myself do not buy any camera which does not fit nicely
into my hands (which of course is highly subjective).

By Chasseur d'Images, exactly the same CMOS sensor is used by both the
10D and the D60 - but the 10D beats out its brother (and others: Nikon
D100, Fuji S2, Sigma SD9, Canon D30 etc...) and the answer might lie
in that Digic processor. Another coup by Canon.
