Does someone make a wire that will connect from the camera top shoe to
the flash so the flash can be held away from the camera?
TIA
nikon does. sc-17, sc-28 & sc-29. third parties probably have an
equivalent.
nikon supports wireless sync, but unfortunately not with the sb-400.
you also don't say which dslr you have. most, but not all, can act as a
master. you need both ends to support it.
you can also get a generic flash slave, but you'll lose the automatic
i-ttl modes.
I don't know of any SS series flashes.
But you might want to eBay or Google
nikon sb-400 cord
CLW-
I recently purchased such a cord for a Sony DSLR. It was made by Dot
Line Corp. For a list of similar cords, including two for Nikon, see
<http://dotlinecorp.net/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1093>
My local camera dealer had two or three of their models in stock. The
Sony cord cost $45. They are probably available from other sources such
as B&H.
