God, this is quite a deal, for $50, they get the use of thousands
of pictures to do whatever they choose. You think you
have a great picture and you very well might be right, it could be
distributed on CD, found on a royalty free sites, in a stock agency
portfolio, all commercial uses and you got nothing because you
didn't even win the stupid contest. This is not new, you see things
like this all the time in newspapers and mags, just for the first time
I have the chance to say something about it publicly. If you don't
mind someone else making money from you work, this is a good
way to let that happen.

Well, maybe they can't do all that much with a 72dpi
small image, but still think it would be fairer if they
told you what they plan to do with the images.

72dpi is about the quality used on the clip-art CD's, so they will
still make money off us..... Also, with image editors such as
photoshop, they can enhance the image quality..

I know it looks more like a bird, but it really is a dog.

Note to self, when drawing something with text, use a fixed width font...

I have seent his sort of thing before. it is like the "Poetry contest"
that only costs $25 to enter.

Any legitimate firm would ask you to sign a waiver to allow them to
reproduce your images for the purpose of the contest, but to TAKE the
rights to an image is another story.

I have a dozen images I would sell them for $50 each, though.

It sounds like a rip-off. They pay one person $50 stinkin' dollars and
then publish a book or calendar of dog photos and make a fortune...
Hmmm.. I think I'll start a photo contest on my website...
