I am not an artist but am working on a project for my parents. I have an
APS panoramic photo that I scanned and applied a watercolor effect to with
Adobe Photo Elements. It looks nice and I want to print on canvas to
simulate a painting. I bought some 8 1/2" x 11 canvas "Jet Print Photo"
photo canvas that worked great. The problem is that it is a little small.
Haven't been able to find larger canvas stock. I went to the local art
store and bought 16" x 12" canvas paper but the ink bled quite badly. The
sales person suggested Krylon Matte Finish spray that people use on painting
canvas to prevent bleeding. The Krylon prevented the ink from getting to
the paper and I could just wipe the ink off of the surface of the paper.

Does anyone know of a source for large ink jet canvas or better yet
something that I could put on the canvas that would make it work with an
inkjet printers? What is this type on paper/canvas coated with?

Thanks,
Brad Chelesvig

Brad,

Try Pictorico: http://www.pictorico.com They have a coated canvas
that comes in 8.5 x 11 or 13 x 19 inch cut sheets, and is available in
24 inch by 42 foot rolls. I have had no bleed problems with this
stuff. It is a true fabric with a ceramic particle coating. The
canvas texture is readily apparent.

Go to: http://www.mediastreet.com/cgi-bin/tame/mediastreet/art_media.tam

They have the Royal Canvas in various larger sizes, and I've never seen
any evidence of bleeding with it.

Why not use watercolor paper when you've applied a watercolor effect? I've
just started doing this, and it works really well. On my HP 932c, I set up
for "Other Paper" and best quality print.
