Question about printing on watercolor paper

Has anybody actually used any of the special photopapers that provide a
watercolor-like texture? Does the print actually look like a watercolor, or
(as I suspect) is it just generally softer in its appearance than a print on
regular photopaper?

I tried it using watercolour paper as sold in an art shop. Effect is
like a cross between a watercolour and a line drawing - if that makes
any sense.. As you've guessed it's much softer than using photo paper.

I have used Epson's water color paper for the 2000P. I found it not too
much different than their matte finish, just textured rather than
smooth. The picture I used to test would have been appropriate for a
"water color" look, i.e. lotus plants, but I didn't see much of a
difference to warrant stocking another style. BTW, the epson papers,
both matte and glossy, I think are really terrific!
