I guess Target flipped the optical zoom (50X) and digital zoom (100X)
in their interpretation of the specs.

Today (Thursday, 5-9-13), on its Web site, I contacted Target about the
error. I received an e-mail reply, saying that "any necessary
corrections" will be made.

I'm sure you're right. But it's not impossible - see
And it goes out to 1800mm with a teleconverter. Suitable for a 2/3"
sensor. With a bit of engineering it could be attached to a digicam.
Maybe not for handheld use though...
