I use Krylon crystal clear which you can get a most art supply stores or
Sureguard > McDonald pro-tecta-cote > clear gloss which can be found at
photographic stores. The Krylon is an acrylic product that artists use
to coat pastel and charcoal drawing to keep them from smudging and the
Sureguard is a Lacquer coating with UV inhibitor. You will want to make
sure you use either one of these in a well ventilated area and try to
use as dust free an area as possible.

That may have been my post:
Blair Spray-Clear, in matte or glossy finish. Available
at most good art supply stores.
A pro photog pal of mine swears by it, and one of these days, I'm going to
try to get a can, but so far, haven't tried it yet.

Not unless you don't care if a drop or two of water hits the print! Use a
spray intended for
standard photo prints.

I get the Kylon spray with UV protection at the local "Michael's" arts/crafts
store for about $5 per can. It's good for maybe 50-60 prints depending on how
heavy a coat I use.
That's what, 10-cents per print? If that's too much to pay, then someone needs
a cheaper hobby.
Anyway, the Krylon works wonderfully. I've used it on photo paper, watercolor
media and canvas with no problems.
I tried the hairspray. My suggestion to others is "don't". Maybe my hairspray
was too expensive. (smile) I went out & bought some Krylon at Wal-Mart.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Lou

Krylon rocks. Dries almost instantly, and the effect with watercolor and canvas
media is wonderful. You have to be real careful with glossy photo paper...
I figure there must be a good reason why professional artists use it...

That number is 1305 Krylon UV-Resistant Clear...it works
