They are very impressive, I expect a lot of work was put in to taking
them.
From the size of some of those waves and that some of them look like
"dumpers", you'd want to be confident that you could hang on to the
camera gear, and it would survive hitting the sand.

I wonder if he used also 3d graphics, considering the photo realistic
capabilities of latest software.
I've seen 3d works more realistic than average real photos.
I guess he used a mix of real and 3d.

That's what I thought ... that they were a combination of photography and
synthetic 3D modeling.
